The specimens you posted appear to be Stropharia aeruginosa.

Here are some pics I took recently of the same specie.

I realize this is an old thread, however I thought I could shine some light on it.

The lavender hugh in the caps varies from a dark lavender to a very light lavender. The color is not caused by bruising. The gills are pallid to greyish.

I think you are right. I have been misidentifying this specie...I do think the discription of I. lilacina matches much better. I'll have to relabel my pics.

Have you seen a lot of these around? I have seen hundreds this year.

I am saying what I had previously identified as Stropharia aeriginosa is in fact Inocybe lilacina.

I had read over the specie/species definition several times (in fact, originally at some crazy dudes house who had an amazing understanding of the proper use of words)...I chose to be nonstandard as it was, but shall stand corrected twice in one thread. I argue for keeping the proper spelling of words, I shall keep species as the proper spelling henceforth.

I found some psilocybes this past spring. I think they may be a new species as no woodloving psilocybe fruits regularly in the spring that I am aware of. I will wait and see if I can find them this spring.
