7 billionth human celebrated
    #15307582 -

:birthday:

Yesterday the media made a big deal over the baby claimed to be the 7 billionth person currently alive on planet earth.

It is only a triple fail.

1. World census are an approximation and with people dying every minute it is impossible to say who or when. Hell, the numbers could easily be off by a half million or more.

2. What is special about 7,000,000,000? Absolutely nothing. It is entirely arbitrary.

3. Should we really celebrate that fact that as a species we have no restraint and the a day of heavy reckoning is coming, such as food and water wars??

Watch this and then let me know how your ass tastes.

Only kidding, the reality is.. nobody knows if we will make it through the bottleneck.

70% of Earths fresh water is frozen in antarctica.... Some major engineering works might make this an accesible resource.

At the moment, most of us (excluding the third world) eat well, and still waste 30% of the food we produce.

The problem is not overpopulation. Its a lack of love and compassion for the world we live in.

Yeah, I will admit, even if its the case that the birth rate is getting lower, doesnt mean there is no cause for concern. Perhaps it wont slow down enough or in time. Or maybe it will increase in a few years... they cant predict that surely.

Not to mention, the guys voice was super annoying.

"Hey you guyyysss, its going to fine, OK. Now turn to the person next to you and give them super hooray-hug. Aint humanity just the greatest!"

And the fact that we are not able to double our population as quickly means nothing in relation to the useable/shareable resources on the planet.  It's misleading into a false sense of  security.

Let's see: the average human male puts out about 280,000,000 sperm per ejacualtion. (Who actually bothered to count them?) Say once per day for 10 years and a single male could theoretically produce enough offspring for each star in the galaxy. Now if the bitches would only do their part.

I can't believe some nations are actually arguing with each other to claim the honor of birthing the 7 billionth new mouth to feed and drink and consume energy and take up space and use scarce medicines and so on.

I'd be ashamed, not proudly trying to claim the title.

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

30 years ago, it used to take me 60 minutes to drive a 10 mile stretch of four-lane freeway from Long Beach to LA. I wonder what that drive is like today. Soon the major highways will totally gridlock, not for hours, but permanently - unless we invent teleportation.

OMG, try to imagine a world in which we celebrate death instead of birth. Like, if funerals were big parties and births and birthdays were somber sad affairs at which everyone cried.
