What's the difference between meditation and LSD?
    #14871050 -

I've never meditated, but I have tried LSD. LSD felt like what seems to me what a meditative state would be like. I felt like I could exist in the state forever, never having to eat or sleep ever again. It felt like pure peace.

I would say they are exactly the opposite. The point of meditating is to focus yourself and to quiet the internal voice of your mind. When I meditate I focus on things in my life I need to change. It is sometimes hard work to try to quiet your mind. On LSD your thoughts are usually racing and you are thinking about so many different things in a very short amount of time, quite a different experience than meditating.

There is always a time for letting your thoughts run wild and that is what LSD and other drugs are good for, but don't be fooled into thinking it is a shortcut for meditating, since it really is comparing apples and grapes.

.... Apples are nothing like grapes.
Ohhhhh. I get it!!
But yea I've def been thinking Bout learning some about medititation.
I really need to clear my mind and spirit. I've been listening to a mixture of Tibetan mantra songs that has in it's own way helped with the mantra (om mani padme om) and recently I've turned on to another (om Gam Ganapataye Namaha) these really help clear my mind but I'd like to move on to completely doing it myself. It's funny because I too find myself wanting to do the opposite with LSD

Do some research on the chakra system and kundalini, if you are into spiritual meditation this will help. You might find there is a lot of yoga related stuff, but you can do kundalini meditation as well.

Psychedelics can technically fit into the Tantra school of practice. Sometimes called The Left Handed Path, this study emphasizes external stimuli to a path of enlightnement and insight into the universe.

LSD is alright with me :datass:

Really a lot of my learning to truly meditate in a sense of absolute being, and no doing came from psychedelic use and taking high doses and being unable to do anything but sit, breath, and witness.
