It still can become contaminated.
The risc is much lower but it is possible.

It's more prone to contamination, not less.  Never allow a petri dish to fully colonize.  Always make transfers before the mycelium reaches the edge of the dish.

Can you tell me why it is more prone?
IME it is less prone. Try to leave a fully colonized dish open for 5 minutes and close it. Do the same with a fresh petri dish.
The uncolonized petri dish will show mostly trichoderma.
The fully colonized dish could also become contaminated but like fully colonized BRF cakes with a much lower risc.

The fully colonized dish would be just as contaminated as the fresh petri in your example. You just wouldn't know it, until you used that dish for some transfers, that is.

You don't want mycelium to grow up on the edge of the pertri. I think that is what RR is saying. The edge is where the highest risk of contamination is.
