I agree with you about the brother thing, but is it a drug dealer's responsibility to make sure every one knows everything about the drug they are about to purchase?

Responsibility is a whole new ball park, yet inextricably linked .

I believe it should be his moral prerogative to do so... Whether he actually will is down to his own choice. I wouldn't sell anything to anyone I wasn't sure about (in regard to their own safety).

I guess the problem with a position of power is the responsibility that comes with it.

Drug dealing is just as moral or immoral as any other kind of sale if done properly. By properly, I mean not lying to the customers, not shorting them weight, etc. Also, as for those who say that harder drugs are immoral to sell: the consumer has a right ti information, there are boatloads of books, websites, etc that will give people the information they need before they decide to purchase such a drug.

In general I would say if done properly and honestly as with selling any other product the sale of drugs is moral.

although some dealers can take advantage of your habit, that ultimately is your responsibility as the consumer.

It's no different than selling anything else, if there's a demand, people will buy it.  I just don't see the issue.

Morality:

Dealing potentially lethal drug is completely immoral. I someone dies from OD and it is indirectly your fault.

But, but, if I hadn't sold him his drugs, someone else would!!!  Absolute stupidity. You were the greedy one that wanted his cash, deal with the fact the he's dead cause of you. I know its hard to get americans to believe that because of the legal gun trade. Which is even more stupid than selling drugs.

In the end is it moral? Well, if you don't get caught and you manage to live with yourself after knowing your indirectly responsible for someones death, its moral...for you. From the outside view, your ass belong on the frying chair son.

In that case, I'm indirectly responsible for the deaths of innocent people in the Middle East, since my tax dollars oil my nation's warmachine.

Morality is highly subjective.  I don't think selling someone something they want at market value is immoral.  Its the consumer's responsibility to know what they're buying, the correct dosage, the possible negative effects, risks, etc.

If I bought some paint from Home Depot, took it home and drank it, would Home Depot be indirectly responsible? Nah.  Its my responsibility to know how to use the product I'm buying.

That said, if drugs were legal and regulated behind the counter, this wouldn't even be an issue.  Selling Tylenol isn't immoral, is it?

This is so fucking stupid I can't even believe it

It was the end users choice to buy the drugs. Fucking duh

It's the users fault if he dies. It's possible to use drugs responsibly.

The morality eh?
well these substances exist, and people will want them. even more once its become illegal i've found.
the government makes money off it in various ways probably. a buddy of mine thinks that most drugs are actually brought in by our own government only to think of as a form of revenue. Think about it, they bust people and give tickets, so people pay the tickets and that = more money.
street sellers are trying to get around it and provide these things to people who enjoy them. when it becomes all about the money i have many moral delema's with it. I personally don't sell anymore but when i did i remember telling my customers that i'd never sell them anything that would try to take control of their life such as the things with higher addictive potentials. I only did this cause i've been down a few bad roads and wouldn't wish it on anyone. i sold psychedellics mostly because i felt like i had to get it out there to the people who wanted to try it and experience it. like "IT MUST BE EXPERIENCED BY ALL"
even though some can't handle it. I usualy left that up to the person, but i remember one time a friend was wanting some acid and i knew he'd have a bum trip, just by how he thinks/ behaves so i didnt hook him.
heroin i don't think is a good drug and shouldnt be out there.sure the high is fun but it can destroy people. same with meth, except i didnt care for that high.
coke is an iffy one though as i havent become addicted to it and its been kinda rare in my travels...
trippy drugs are out there and should be experienced.
weed, is fine. its a weed after all everyone. not like itll make me go insane

If I were a drug dealer, you bet your ass I would be careful about what I sell my clients. Because if they die for whatever reason, you bet your ass there's a huge possibility of it getting traced back to you. I predict that this is a practice LE will begin doing this more and more to try to capture drug dealers in the future.

Well, the question is how much personal responsibility does our society place on the individual?    Not a lot really.

If some kid who was strung out, obviously didn't know what he wanted and was looking for some way to inebriated came to me (as a drug dealer) looking for something to get high off I would turn them down sort him out.

I would tell them go home and think about it have fun and be safe.

I'd try to deal something (if possible) at a fair rate. I guess it would depend on my mood, the person himself, my current financial needs, the amount of a drug that I possess etc.

Personally I like giving drugs for free which is mostly shrooms and weed. Honestly the expression on ones face when he trips tits is far more rewarding than the price I'd charge. But as you said greed finds its way easily.

As far as morality goes I'd say as long as you don't charge an unreasonably high price then its good in my book. Also if you knowingly sell a tainted drug and/or something thats not what the person has asked for etc

Its complex and there are too many variables but the bottom line is drug dealing is not immoral as long as you're not a douchebag about it.

Drug dealing can't be all bad, right?  I mean unless you have grown, hunted for, or manufactured your own drugs you have to get them from a dealer.    So it may make some sense to be thankful for drug dealers, especially since they are the ones taking the risk with the law, far more than the drug user.

On another note, if you can grow, hunt for, or manufacture your own drugs, it is pretty much better in all aspects, typically becuz;

cheaper
you can be 100% sure of the source
what the drug is
that it is pure

I highly encourage everyone to supply themselves if possible, better in pretty much every aspect.

well every drug has to come from somewhere.
you just have to be careful whom you give what. think about the ripples in the water that occur when your throw a stone in it. one rock...many different possible reactions. take into account how these could affect you. just try to get the messege out that the drug sends ( each one sends a different one i believe), don't let greed get in the way though it might be hard and just try to live life.
if you deal you can't do it forever. something will catch up to you, weather its a customer or  your own personal use on the side.
be careful and smart...
...you can do any and every drug you want in the world...if your smart about it to various extents. and if you sell, then you have multiple other variables to deal with.
(deTH BY od,bad trips, possession charges and then even dealing charges)
just be smart and careful... life is your oyster
