three songs that bring a tear to your eye
    #1452295 - 04/12/03 01:44 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Time/The Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd (ok, so its really two songs but they flow so smoothly into each other I consider them one coherent piece, I have never cried like a baby listening to music before )

H. by Tool ("My blood before me begs me, open up my heart again")

Behind Closed Eyelids by Shpongle (Whenever I listen to this song it feels like my brain is going to explode, 12:29 minutes is too much awesome music to take in at once  )

I am still amazed how sounds arranged in a certain manner can have such power influencing your being! I love music!

IMO:

Biosphere - Substrata
Sigur Ros - Untitled #1 (or also Staraflur)
Jimmy Eat World - For Me This Is Heaven (seems out of place but truely beautiful to me. not so much pop-rock either)

Guns N Roses - November Rain (the most beautiful 9 minutes of rock music I've ever known. it's hard to ignore the emotion these guys put into their music)

Lou Reed - Perfect Day (depressing...)

Pink Floyd - Wish U Were Here (makes me nostalgic)

Lou Reed - Perfect Day (depressing...)"

That's kinda funny Max. i always had a somewhat unusual interpretation of  that song maybe you can see it and maybe you can't....."it's such a perfect day, i'm glad i spent it with you(etc).......it's such a perfect day, you just keep me hanging on, you just keep me hanging on" i took to be Lou Reed's anthem(one of thm anyway ) to his addiction to Heroin......that's just an interpretaion though......

Hehe yeah I know that's what the song is about, and that's why it was in Trainspotting too I guess. It's just the melody and way Lou sings it that makes it sound sad.

If you want real depression and suffering from Mr. Reed, then check out(if you already haven't) the 1973 album Berlin

Hmmmm, here's my list:

1) Harry's Game -
A friend of mine died whilst listening to this in his bedroom, the track was looped. It was not suicide, it was an allergic reaction to a peanut. That's true.

2) Tibetan Gale -
I cried whilst journeying with Salvia once because of this song. I just curled up on my bed and felt so sad. That night I thought I died / the world had ended. I had extremely disturbing thoughts and a lucid trip in which I stood on a snowy cliff edge in a blustery snow storm with this song playing as ambience. I saw myself standing on a huge snowy cliff edge, I was in a dense snow storm and crying at the edge of the cliff. Tears streamed from my cheeks and froze whilst falling down the cliff face. They froze on the way down and shattered upon hitting the ground.

3) Music I play on my guitar
All the emotion just comes out if you leave me alone in a dim room with a guitar.

other songs that are crying worthy

"seven spanish angels by willie nelson"

"last kiss by pearl jam"

"wake up" by string cheese incident(talks about alchoholism and it hits home cause my dad is an alcoholic

Systematic - If only

Black Label Society - Bridge to cross

Stereomud - Perfect Self
