I used to get bulk Brown Rice in NY but now I can't find any except for that Gormet shyt that usually comes with spices and such (and I've checked EVERY store in this small town.)
can Brown rice and BRF be substituted 1 to 1 by bird seed? If not can I use organic Rye grain 1 to 1 as I would Brown Rice?
My issues I feel will be in water retention.
FYI this is dealing with the Puerto Method.

if you can get wbs and not brf, jus do the wbs straight: soak 24h, drain 2h, load jars, pc 90mins, and off you go.

Please read up a few posts.
there is no "just" brown rice in this little town, it's all gourmet spiced. This is not Dallas, hell this isn't even close to the size of Waco.. I've got lots of bird seed around here and I could probably order Rye Grain from the farm stores (though they usually use fungus retardent chemicals in bulk Rye grain.) I'll be damned if I have to drive 50 miles just to get some long grain brown rice.
