safeway usually doesnt carry BRF, and many other stores dont. Try fred meyer in the health section, or a Natures (recently bought out by wild oats) store. Keep looking.

Not sure where you're based, but if you have a Whole Foods (Bread & Circus, Fresh Fields, etc...they're all the same.) They definitely have brf there, probably seven different kinds too!

Fred Meyer out west and Fred Meijer's in the midwest have the brown rice($.86 and up), check by the dried beans for different brands or Nashiki($1.99 or so) brand can be found in the oriental foods section. Neither have organic guarantees, but they work just fine. I'm partial to the $.86 Meijer brand brown rice...my co-op wants $.89/lb for organic brown rice and $1.29/lb for brf. Too much imho and I've never seen any difference. They do have millet for almost nothing though but it's never fully colonized for me...
Normal large grocery chains have both rice and flour usually, rice in mexican, oriental or dried beans areas and rice flour in either the baking flours or in the health food section.
Super Walmarts have brown rice, but haven't ever found brf.
As above though, I say get a coffee grinder. No BRF I have ever bought has grown as well as the cheapest home ground rice I have used...no comparison.
The cap on the Braun one filled to the line of rice and ground(will fill to the top of the cap) is almost exactly what you want for 4 jars using MFF per PF tek or 6 or so normal. Only use the grinder for rice though unless you plan on a hellish time cleaning it. (Take a piece of regular white bread and chop it for a second, and wipe the grinder out with a very well squeezed rag wetted with bleach solution if you want the easiest cleaning method)
Another option is a food processor. For another $10 or so you get a rice grinder and they make cake chopping a breeze for beginner bulk teks using cakes instead of more contam prone corn, rye or other substrates if your area is trich heavy. They can also be cleaned and used for other things which will make them a definate bonus...like grinding dried shrooms into powder for mixing with OJ for a trip-on-the-go drink =)

I went to a nice "planet organic" shop or something like that. they had 2 types of BRF, whole grain BR, and 2 organic whole grain BR types. they even had the distilled water that i was looking for.
