you mean to tell me there isn't a spec of brown rice within a 20 mile radius of your home??? I hardly think this to be true unless you live in the middle of nowhere. Any major supermarket will have brown rice of some sort. I know safeway (vons), Food lion, Giant, shaws, stop and shop, etc. all these chain supermarkets carry brown rice and/or brf.

brf is hard to find in my area too, try a health food store or an organic grocery. regular rye flour works decently but not quite as fast as brf. get some wild bird seed from a pet store if you have a pc... just started using it and its awesome ^_^

i'd have imagined corn meal would be too coarse to work very well...learn something new every day...
i use millet flour because i haven't been able to find BRF around here...no problems with it...

Really, almost any kind of flour will work. I always prefer flour with little brown bits in, it just looks kindy healthy
