Healthy Diet.....Herbal Supplements
    #14100530 -

Hows this for a diet:

Breakfast:
2 Hard Boiled Eggs

Lunch:
Turkey and Cheese Hoagie with Lettuce
Minestrone Soup

Between lunch and dinner:
strawberries and grapes

Dinner:
???? (I need suggestions I usually degenerate into unhealthy snacks and fried food my dad brings home)

Supplements:
Right now I take Melatonin to assist in falling asleep
Fish Oil 1000mg 2x a day
500mg Niacin once a day to detox from marijuana faster.
(Any suggestions I'd appreciate)

EDIT: Forgot to add I drink water mostly and occasionally a bottle of the Vitamin Water that tastes soo damn good.

I would try to include more vegetables in your diet. I just started eating healthy recently too. For dinner I had grilled fish over brown rice with a side of pan fried (with olive oil) butternut squash and a side of peppered black beans.

More leafy greens and something like chicken breast or tuna. Everybody needs their protein..

So far dinner I'd suggest a big salad with romaine lettuce(more nutritious than iceberg lettuce), and a large serving of chicken breast or a tuna sandwich, and maybe a side of veggies.

Oh and as far as supplements you can't go wrong with Lecithin and milk thistle. Good luck.

Try some gotu kola, tis' one of my favorite herbs of all time. It makes you feel amaaaaaazing.

As others have said, eat more green vegetables. It's better than any small amount of herbs that you could swallow. Avoiding wheat and starchy foods is a good idea as well, look up the primal diet if you're looking for some real powerful change in your life.

Looks like a generally good diet. Maybe some green tea between meals? The melatonin probably isn't the greatest idea long term; regular exercise should take its place if you're willing to start that. Exercise has a myriad of other benefits as well, I highly suggest it. Running is the most efficient form.

But if you are going to take melatonin, take this into consideration:

I am very much interested in herbal remedies and supplements.  I believe in America, our food is little better than shit and we require supplementation to be healthy.  Unfortunately, the herbal supplement market is corrupt as all hell, most of the info (even if well-meaning) is quickly debunked or cannot be fully verified, if it's not all outright lies.  Herbal supplements are expensive.  I just can't shell out the $$ for herbal remedies that are largely fly-by-night scam ops pushing quackery off as science and preying off of the insecurities of paranoid hypochondriacs. All too messy at the moment for my tastes.

Just take our advice then if you're too doubtful. I've had varying success with different herbs, but the ones that stick out for me were gotu kola, ginkgo biloba, and although this isn't a herb, chlorella. But if you just get your greens into your diet you'll be ace, herbs are just for augmenting your brain whenever you need a little push. Marijuana, tobacco, and many other common herbs are equivalent to these in scope and action. Look up some adaptogens as well. You'll never really know whats best for you until you try them out anyways.
