Golden Teacher on Straw Grow Log w/Pics! **Completed**

Strain: Sporeworks Golden Teacher
Spawn: Rye Berries via multispore innoculation
Bulk Substrate: Straw, pasteurized for 1hour 15 min
Casing: 10 parts Peatmoss, 3 parts Vermiculite, 2 parts Crushed oystershells with lime.

Method: I had originally started with half a gallon of rye berries in a spawn bag. Some time after innoculation bacterial blotch contaminated the bottom of the bag but not the top so I decied to wait and see what happend. After about 2 weeks of waiting I opend the bag and decieded to play it safe and just take about 2 handfulls of what appeared to me as non-contaminated mycelium.
On Dec 6 after pasteurizing the straw and letting it drain and cool over my sink for about 2 hours I proceeded to innoculate it. I placed about 1/2in layer of straw into each of the 3 aluminum trays and divided the limited spawn that I had into those 3 trays. I then put another layer of straw on top of the grain. The trays were covered with Aluminum foil and put in a dark closet. No temprature regulation was used. The temprature in the closet was about 78 degrees.
I don't remember when but I cased all of the trays about a week and a half ago (about 12/15) with about 1/2in layer of casing. I misted every day untill the myceluim started to poke out through the casing I then introduced fruiting conditions begining by coldshocking in fridge for about 4 hours. I fan about 3 times a day morning, noon and night. Its been really cold around here so I have been having some trouble keep ing the temp up. for the past 5 days or so its been in temps about 65 degrees.

I finiished this project a while ago but I just been lazy on postin but here it is.
Ok here is how they were lookin...on Dec 30 at 8:54pm, Top tray is #1, middle #2, bottom #3.


Up next is a little size comparison.


What happend next ammazed me, litterally over night they exploded in growth. These pictures were taken Dec 31 at 9am.

They recieved plenty of natural light , not direct light though. I misted them lightly every 2 days after the pins started to really take shape. For some reason they flushed once then stopped flushing. Total yeild was about 9 grams dry.
