Those look good. Quick question because i cant seem to find it anywhere. I have a Ps. Caerulipes print.
Was wondering if the regular teks for growin cubes would work for it?
Also have a lib cap print im holdin off on till i get more info.

Ps. Caerulipes are another outdoor only grow.  germinate your spores on agar/grain/whatever fits you best then inoculate a mycobag/filterpatch bag of birch/maple wood chips to colonize.
while thats colonizing get your outdoor bed ready by digging a 6" deep by however big you want it (1 5-6qt bag of woodchip spawn will inoculate a 20' square area) in a shady area.  partialy fill it with more woodchips of the same type and a lil manure if you have access then dump your spawn into it when its ready/done colonizing.  cover it all with straw/leaves/grass/more woodchips/various mixes/whatever and keep it moist but not flooded during the spring/early summer then patience will/should reward you. :mushroom2:

I have not grown those myself but thats what Ive researched and would do myself.

Now why didn't I think of that?

Psilocybe caerulipes

He won't find it is all that easy.  Good advice though.

Lol didnt think it would be too easy. Still am rather new at growin cubes myself, only done a couple grows. My plan is to hold of on the caeruplis until i feel i have mastered growin cubes. Got it down decently, but have some kinks i need to improve upon.
Then i will move on to bigger and better things.
Thank you for the info:grin:

For Psilocybe caerulipes instead of using birch/maple use american beech. Psilocybe caerulipes is distributed throughout the range of american beech trees. I have found only one caerulipes on white birch and hundreds on american beech and rarely leaf litter.

edit: If you use beech woodchips or sawdust i bet they will fruit inside.

They are a species, not a strain.

Quick update.

I added a 1/4 inch casing of pasteurized soil/verm/grass clippings (75/15/15) with a good handful of grass seed mixed in.

With any luck grass will grow and with even greater luck mushrooms.

Heres a pic of the tray with the grass after the 'mowed it'.

Fifteen days after casing.

And a few unrelated pics....

I'm loving the grass tub, thats such a cool idea.

I really hope it pays off for you, you've put a lot of time and effort into this experiment.

I take it the grass tub is now in fruiting conditions?

Yes. It was put into fruiting conditions immediately after casing.

I only hope the mushrooms grow as well as the grass.
