Guessing I got some sort of black mold in my plates that took over after the plate was fully colonised? Had this happen to a few other species. Think this plate sat out for a couple months at room temp.

I just recently saw, for the first time, something like trich form on top of my mycelium in a fully-colonized plate that I'd taken a wedge from, and re-sealed.  Nasty.  :uhoh:
I don't think my contam rates with my new flow hood are very good, actually.  Even though it passes the 'lighter test', I'm not so sure my motor (or possibly filter) are up to the job.

On the upside, I've got a rye grain jar of colonized semilanceata that looks about ready for spawning

I got a jar as well. It looks fully colonised but either its really dry on top or it contamed a bit on top. I reused a polyfil lid back then :fail:

Oh well, only filter disks for me now.

I always reuse my polyfill lids m8, more out of lazyness, but I never have any contam problems with them.

I still have a lib print or 2 left for if/when I ever get my flow hood built and I can make a few more attempts at this. :blazed:

I think I had a few lids that got loose on me I think. That with sitting around for 3+ months I think contams eventually find there way in.

I think so. I'm in the middle of updating slants and clearing out the fridge all while trying to get a load of things on the go and onto grains. Lots of work and I'm in the middle of a move and all unorganised. Might try to get a wild clone this summer
