the land of aborts...
    #1361667 - 03/10/03 12:37 AM (21 years, 24 days ago)

a freind of mine is growing some shrooms in cases....they both pinned at the same time, but he didn't have a terrarium. So he had them covered with saran wrap after they pinned he removed the saran wrap and misted them....but now it's been a few days and no growth on any of them....there are tons of aborts but no big-uns....he wants me to find out why.
thanks in advance.

ooooooh!! Not a good idea. Misting pins tends to abort them. I think that might be your problem....Bob...lem.

Misting pins doesn't make them abort. I would guess the prob is not enough air exchange. Buy a $3.50 bin somewhere, modify the top so light can get through and use perlite, or mist the terrarium several times a day.

misting pins directly does indeed cause them to abort. but also getting a bin is a good idea.

Incorrect. You need to read this.

AFOAF mists his pins all the time. Perhaps the problem is our definitions of "misting". I am speaking of opening the top of the bin and shooting in a fine mist into the bin about three times.
