Put fresh casing directly into terrerium...?

OK, i was told to put fresh casings directly into the terrerium. most people here seem to let the mycelium colonize the verm first. can anyone direct me to a website or give me a casing tek that FULLY explains casing. i can make the actual casing no prob., but i dont know how to cold shock, or whether or not to put the casings in a terrerium. the way they are now, in the terrerium, the mycelium is not overgrowing the verm. any help is appreciated, thanks. miasTor

i guess you can put the fresh casing in the terrarium. you will deffinately not get an even flush though. take them out of the terrarium and cover the "tray" in saran wrap, then poke about ten holes in the saran wrap. this is how i do mine. once you got the mycelium at the place you want it to be then put it in the terrarium.

should the covered casings be kept in the dark? do you know anything about cold shocking? is it as simple as putting a fully colonized casing in the fridge over night?

I keep mine in the dark 24-48hrstil the 50-50 gets fluffy.
The fridge overnight is fine:D!
