Should I harvest the invitro pin fruiting in SGFC?
    #13365650 -

Brief background:

I had a 1" pin in my brf cake jar, and I dunk/rolled and put it in the SGFC, mostly upon koolaid's recommendation.

So I have 1 cake, days later, with a 4" mushroom thriving (using all the resources I assume), while the rest of the cake is just now forming primordia.

Should I pluck it, so the cake can focus on its primordia, or can the cake grow 1 early shroom and still fruit fine later?

You're fine just letting it go, you can pick it OR you can pick all the little pins, and let that one shroom keep growing to try and get a bigger shroom  (if you're into that sort of thing)

Cool, I'll probably just let it go, assuming it's not going to inhibit more developments.

This is my first time fruiting, so I don't have preferences.

Although my impatience does tell me to just eat it for the hell of it because I can

If your primordia look nice and healthy let it do it's thing.
Sounds like you'll have a good outcome either way :mushroom2:

"C'mon mom, lemme open just one present early"

Yeah the tons of mistakes became obvious quickly, which makes noob growers (like me) posting experimental or non-tek ideas seem ridiculous.  While the fundamental teks are the simple, they're not guarantees at all -- so why introduce more room for error?
