sure the mayan calender ends then,but maybe they were only attempting to predict when whether would be the worse each decade,or century ,maybe they seen it would get worse every hundred years or so,and just did the math and said okay"it will get 10 times worse every 100 years so in 1000 years it will be the worst that could possibly happen ," the ultimate end of all. as i say MAYBE,just and opinion not a belief.

2012 to me is symbolic of the potential we all have.

But as some loose their faith, others garner it.  Plus I don't know if people are loosing their faith rather than being openly unspiritual.  There was a time where it was law to be spiritual.  People followed the steps of religion, but didn't necessarily believe.  We live in a time where it's acceptable to not be spiritual.  It's good in the sense that many that are spiritual are devout

I think thats how awesome our beings actually are. We have the ability to actually think that we're screwed, and that this is 'it'.

This has been asked before, but if you were apart of the matrix, how would you know? :P. Is reality simply a blend of your 5 senses, or do you go above&beyond scientific 'reasoning'?

My hope/projection for 2012 is an inflection point, in the true mathematical sense.
Not the direction, but the curvature of the graph is going to shift in 2012.

We as a species have been trending towards self-destruction.
The slope of the graph is going down. Not only that, but the curvature of the slope has been going down.
In other words, every year we move towards self-destruction by an even larger amount than we did the previous year.
If you can grasp the actual meaning of that (and if you believe it), it's fucking terrifying.

My personal symbolic meaning for 2012 is that it's when the curvature changes.
After 2012, we will still (for a short while) be trending towards self-destruction, but every year we will move towards it by less than the year before.
Until finally we reach another year, maybe 2030, who knows, when we don't move towards self-destruction at all.
And the year after that, we will move away from it.
The year after that, we will move away from it even more.
Towards self-realization.

But first, the trend must be reversed.
The inflection point is the most crucial point in the whole process.
Once the curvature switches over, the rest is inevitable.
But if we can't fix the curvature ...

I see no evidence that we will reverse this trend away from self destruction. While many here claim to see this reversal I contend it is a mirroring effect of connecting with a small group of like minded folk and dis connection from the vast majority that are blindly headed in our current direction.

I myself, at my age, no longer find this trend terrifying.  What has been terrifying for me has been the general blindness and fear driven actions of my fellow man in general. What terrifies me is that it won't end and this slow steady slide into self degradation will continue on all the days of my life on this sad planet.

And that's about as positive as I can get anymore.:lol:

Is there a trend towards self destruction? We've been doing fucked up shit as a species for a long time, and we're still here.

For me 2012 is the date I want to have accomplished all my current life goals.  So I'll be popular when the new age comes :kingtard:

To me the idea of 2012 is a reflection of the human mind which pretends it wants to live in the now, but will always keep postponing it
Few want to totally drop their world & live as the truth right now, we are so attached to so many lies its easier to postpone truth & keep living lies...

Its a symbol of hope, and hope, expectation, anticipation, always kicks you in the balls, hard, because its fear dressed up, maybe its dressed up in a fancy suit or some other kind of threads we like, like 'world peace', or having super powers, morphing our DNA & transforming into some special being so others can appreciate how great we are inside.

Yes something is happening to humanity, happening fast, and we all are great inside, but that greatness is happening right now, its NOT going to start happening in 2012, it was happening before all of us were born, or before our parents were even thought of, before this planet even existed you were the greatness of being & you always will be, maybe in 2012 a few people may realize this, i prefer to realize this NOW.

Time waits for no man...
