clone question

a friend has a cake in a jar that is a clone, and although he knows you can make clones of a clone,you can't make any more clones after that.What he needs to know is how you can prolong the life of that one clone to make it last a long time.Could you just leave it in a jar sealed tight with absolutely no air?I was wondering how long a cake would last without air;or how long one would last with regular air exchange?Thankyou for any help

you can clone a clone many times for years with out any real noticable genetic drift.Just not for ever.

Years?Are you sure?A lot of posts I have read said that two times is the max.Anyway,that would be a big releif to me because my friend can't make prints for shit.

Strange ive never read the 2 clone thing?i would say at least 100 but i'm not 100% await someone else saying something lol.But i am about 75%sure you can.

I mean if you do agar transpheres your basicaly cloning and you can keep a culture for years at low temps.

Stick that jar in the fridge and you can keep using the same jar for months.
