If you don't want to buy a scale then try this:
Get a bunch of envelopes.
In one envelope put 5 shrooms.
In another, put 10 shrooms.
Etc.
Go to the post office and use the 'weigh it yourself' postage scale and figure it out.
Be sure you weight an empty envelope too.

Mazatapec has long been among my very top favorite strains, specifically because of lots of wonderful visuals and a usually rather pervasive "happy" or "giddy" feeling. 

That said, I imagine that your growing conditions probably have a greater effect on "potency" than what strain you grow (assuming you're growing cubes.)  I doubt that my love for the Mazatapecs is based on anything more than positive reinforcement; there likely isn't any qualitative difference between them and any other cubes.

Still, you might have gotten a fluke with some bad genes....very unlikely, but possible.

^^^ agreed.  I saw "Mazatapec" in the title of a thread so I simply had to click it and comment, though; you see, there were several ounces of mazatapecs staring me down and I simply couldn't control myself.  I HAD to sing their praises! 

Now my head hurts.

There is a noticable difference when you eat a lot of them(10g+).  You get the stropharia feelings very quick with this shroom.  I think that it may have higher amounts of stropharia than other cubes.  I have found them to be pleasantly potent tho.  And when I eat 3.5g+ I have never had any problem getting good visuals.
