pf cakes to toss or not to toss

ok so i birthed some cakes of bht about 3 weeks ago in this tub




was advised that that tub did not fit the hole requirements so i made this one



they have been in this new chamber for a week they were in the old one for 2 weeks. i now have a 6500k light on them also.

so the questions is to toss or not to toss cause i have seen no changes in them what soever. the first day they were in the old chamber they grew a bit of new myc, but that is gone and they look like they did when i birthed them. i redunked and rollled one and it didnt change a thing they do not look like they are contaminated or anything. but seem to have stopped doing anything

i did let them consolidate for a week b4 i birthed them.
misting and faning? you have to do that!!!! omg

i mist and fan b4 work and after work and once again b4 i go to bed. thats all my schedual alows. ive ordered a hygometer it should be here in a few days

Water evaporating from the cakes and then being replenished(like in nature) is a major pinning trigger, more so than the presence of lighting if I'm not mistaken.

I personally go for 3 mists a day, minimum, and about 5-6 fans.

If you're able to fan/mist before and after work, try to get one in before dinner(or whatever meal it is you eat at home after work depending on the shift you work) and then once more before bed.

There's really no substitute for this. If you can't manage to get in the needed mist/fans a day you may want to look into an automated set up.

also if you can't get fruits with a manual setup i don't think you will get fruits with an automated one

edit: actually its not that bad when i look at the second pic. do you got holes in the bottom? my cakes wouldnt fruit for me until i stopped givin them water for a while. once they dryed out, pins came out real quick. i found staying on the dry side is much better than too much water. they get by much nicer

My wife just sent me a message saying that some kind of growth all fungi like had appeared on one of them mabee window light wasn't enough and the cpf is working some magic

Your cakes dried out, you should have dunk and rolled them. Then you have to mist and fan 2-3 times a day. If it looks and smells like healthy mushrooms but nothing is growing you dried them out most likely.

I actually did dunk and roll the verm didn't stick all that well. As I've stated I even redunked one of the 4 to see if the were to dry. When I mist its a lot there for awhile I was concerned that I sprayed to much.

When I get home from work ill investigate and see what it was my wife has seen

ok the cake i dunked has two little pins and another that i injected with water has a slightly larger one comming out the bottom. so tonight im dunking the other two cakes tonight and ill double case them tomorow when i pull um out of the fridge

You dont need to dunk in the fridge. In fact, cubes are a subtropical species and dont like the cold.
