5 days and you have pins, consider yourself lucky. Mushrooms are not speed devils. But those "needles" will soon turn into infant mushrooms, and will grow from there. Good luck.

Let's see a picture. I have the same problem and I'm a newbie. If you have a fully colonized cake. Soaked over night filled in vermiculite in a sgfc there are many different reasons they wont fruit, rh,fae, temp. To sum it up. I beleive they are not under optimal conditions.

This thread is two decades old. There is a high probability of this grow being over already.

EDIT: I just realized this post is 20 YEARS OLD. @Scoothcheboy, please do not bump such incredibly old threads. It should have given u a warning before you posted, pls go over the FAQ and forum rules to avoid things like this. Also, if you admit you're a newb, it's best not to give other newbs advice. That's just reckless and like in this case, you coulda scared somebody who's cake is totally fine. Dont give advice that you yourself are not even sure of.
(Original response) This is for you and the OP, 5 days is nowhere NEAR long enough to be worried. I've had APEs that took nearly 2 weeks to see pins, I've had Enigma take 3. Chill, crack a cold one, stop trying to watch paint dry and let it do its thing. Keep it hydrated, leave it alone. Dont fret, mushies are on their own time schedule, not yours. Patience is the name of this game folx.
