The jar looks fine. The cakes should be in the dark until birth. So ya may wanna keep the clear cabinet in a closet or put a blanket over it.

substrate looks a little wet holmes. you may be able to skip dunking prior to first flush, but your colonization time is going to suffer

don't do that. You'll probably dry it out to much. You should be fine. It is harder to follow the growth in overly wet jars I think because the glass gets all fogged or gooey and the mycelia is hard to see. You should be ok. Just give it a week.

it's not really a big deal, i've prepped jars in recent batches that have more moisture than yours which are residing in about 100% rh(my incubator is wet wet wet). they have some large water droplets on the sides, mostly where the inoculation points are, a combination of condensation and myc piss. These jars are going slower but they are still going, no contams, even in the wet-ass incubator. If the myc turns from white to a fuzzy greyish yellowish bumpyish looking myc(invitro overlay), then I lightly scruff this off before birthing and it fuzzes out nicely. without scruffing you'll still be fine, but it won't pin on these overlay-ish areas. so, don't worry, next time just use a little less water. prep jars with differing water contents, see what works for you, trial and error...good luck
