slicing PF cakes in half and using traditional PF tek
    #1174895 - 12/28/02 08:43 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

This isn't a casing post, I will try that my next time through.

Using traditional 1/2 pint PF cakes, would it not increase fruiting if I sliced the cakes down the middle and laid them out flatside down in my terrarium? More surface area... Or is fruiting fixed based on the size of the cake itself and not the exposed surface?

I searched but couldn't really find anything :/ Thanks.

I read about it the other day, I plan to try it next time through, but that's a casing tek. I was wondering what would happen if I just put the halves on foil ontop of perlite.

That's how I just did some cakes because I was getting low on prints. You'll get more shrooms on the first flush but they don't grow to their full size and the following flushes seem to suck
