a guy walks into a bar... makes 8 pf cakes as normal. covers the lids with microwavable cling film. puts the cakes into 4 plastic shopping bags (2 in each bag) pours cold water in the bags so it is a third the way up the jar. then he ties the bags tight (knowing there will be some small holes anyway) puts the bags into a rubbermaid and pours boiling water into the rubbermaid so it is a third way up the side of the jars in bags. then puts the lid on the rubbermaid loosely and puts it in another large plastic bag and ties it. he microwaves it for 40mins on full. it was left to cool overnight and in the morning looked good. the film on the jars was very tight and the moisture looked fine. he innocculated today. time will tell

Yeah, but what kind of bar? A biker bar? Sports bar? A gaybar? Or maybe, just a bar full of terrorists!

well some more of the jars are finally showing growth and still no contams. all at 84F the main one is 1/2 colonised. felixhigh- do you add extra water at the start than normal to allow for steam escaping. do you wrap them in film or anything?

I nuke mine for 8 min. No contam. Work's great. I then use the oven tek to inoculate. This also alows you to use differnet sized containers. I use Pyrex dishes with lids and Tupperware.

Spores are too small to see. What you may see someitmes are clumps of spores. If you don't see any clumps, it does not mean their are no spores. Thats the wierdest tek I've seen, whats it called?

"Spores are too small to see" yep thats what ive heard i injected about 5cc into a 100ml jar of sterile water and sucked it up i put about 5cc in each jar. i reckon i diluted it too much. as for a name for the tek, i dont know, but im going to try just nuking the jars the way the others have said to see if the moisture stays ok. my method was probably a very overkill way of doing it

no extra water nor nothing, just simple PF sp plastic jars with plastic lids with holes (for it not to explode and innoculation).
