i occasionally go out and buy food to distribute to the day laborers in my town. my town is pretty open minded in someways a few blocks from the main campus they've designed a nice picnic area for them to congregate. you don't just see brown people there, there is actually a good number of blacks and whites that are regulars there. the ones lucky enough to get hired make good money, most of which goes to housing and food or provisions.

In all honesty, I think thats a fucking TERRIBLE idea. Our economy sucks as it is, like we need MORE problems to take on, don't even get me started on mexico

Land mines would NOT create future problems.. a big sign that says "TURN BACK, LAND MINE FIELD" in spanish and english would deter any normal person. If they want to enter my country, they better be willing to risk their life.

remember, they could run cattle through the mine field and blow up all
the cattle, from there of course the automated machine guns would take
over and kill anyone else trying to cross. we could then take the cattle
and feed the homeless, we could take the remains of the illegals and
catapult plague upon the drug cartels

A few feet of thick barbed wire could keep out most cattle, it would be pretty easy to spot a huge cattle herd as well. The mexicans would have to spend hours cutting through the wire to get the cattles in, and if there was actual guards patrolling the area it would be a quick end to their parade as its shoot first ask questions later down here in Texas...

I'm just assuming this though.. I have no idea how long it would take to get through a lot of barbed wire cutting it slowly

Or, we could begin enforcing the law against the meat packing plants, orchards, landscape contractors, etc., that hire them rather than hiring U.S. citizens.  If they seized the farms and packing plants when they got caught hiring illegals, it would put a stop to it.

The next county west of ours is a major fruit producing region.  A group of local residents went over there to pick fruit this summer and were turned away by the orchard owners and packing plants, because they didn't speak Spanish.  This was only 50 miles south of the Canadian border. :shrug:

........Or we could do both and have a win-win situation all around. Prevention and enforcement. Spanish should NEVER be required in the US, it just doesn't make sense.

I seriously doubt the ranchers along the border would want their property rigged with land mines.  Those are pretty hard on cattle.  I also doubt the people in Texas would be willing to give up smoking the cheap shwag the illegals bring across, despite their tough talk.

The whole discussion would not even be taking place if employers didn't discriminate against American citizens in favor of cheaper labor.  As I said above, whenever they bust a packing plant or orchard, landscaping service, etc., with illegal employees, they should seize their business and equipment and then sell it at auction. Then put the owners and managers in jail.  End of problem.  We don't need to spend billions on a stupid fence in the middle of nowhere that can be cut through or climbed over.
