Artificial Lighting?

It'd be a lot easier on my stealth routine if I could somehow artificially stimulate lighting instead of actually exposing it to light. I heard that psilo. cub. is most sensitive to lights in the blue range.. Does this mean I can just use a blue LED as a light? Does it need to be bright? And if not, what kind of light can I use?
Thanks

a nightlight is fine, but i don't know if a LED is enough...even if they just get a few minutes when you're looking at them that's enough. i don't have any steady light source on mine and they're fine...but they get a little ambient as i'm not doing super stealth

they have some pretty bright lights now days for cheaper than some of the damn incandescent light bulbs. they don't require much current draw from a battery. Here's a great site to start looking into LED lights. http://www.theledlight.com
look at the luxeon star LED. Its an LED that uses a heat sink and provides like 100,000 candle power. thats just the 1W model. The 5 watt model is even higher.

LOL, I'm not trying to get into high-tech LEDs or anything. I've got a book light I might be able to use. Do the shrooms need CONSTANT light, or just intervals? It seems to me like they need continuous light, or at least, light for 12 hrs or whatever. Hmm, I guess I'll find something. Thanks, guys. EDIT: Okay, I found a cheap old Foodlion light that works pretty good for the whole indirect light thing. Only problem is it shines right through the plastic so I wouldn't want to keep it on all the time. How many hrs a day is reccomended to light these things for? 3-4? 10-12?

3 hours of light a day would probably be the minimum you'd want to stimulate good growth. Any more than that probably isn't needed

So, minimum also = maximum? I'll do 4 hrs or so... My jars aren't colonized fully yet though, so it's not like this is happening today.

this is good stuff.. Does it matter at what time of the day it is? Meaning can the light be a various times of the day or must this be like routine time?

to all you people who think that an LED light won't work, you are wrong. Leds are in the perfect light spectrum, i bought some cheap x-mas tree lights and they work great! plus they are absolutely no fire hazard. I think the basic point of this whole thread is that lighting doesn't matter.....get your minds out of the weed in your other closet lol
