Re: LSD and it's completely different nature [Re: truekimbo2]

i still go by the vibes tho they have different feels. Being on acid at a rave is alot different then acid at a festival which is alot different then with a small group of friends(tho it can be similar to a festival) I have to agree mushrooms is more feeling all sorts of things and seeing things in a new light as lsd is more analyzing everything and i find more clear headed, tho not always. I must say tho driving down a foggy moutain side with jagged turns on LSD at 1 am is fucking fun

I think your response hs been very considered and I know it is weird trying to understand this business of frame layering as the constant between all psychedelics unless you are looking at the way brain makes memory by letting the cells that are reverberantly stimulated become the unit of momentary memory.
reverberant stimulation is the required feedback for memory formation.
psychedelic manages using one method or another (chemically) to extend the reverberant period of each stimulus.

It is smart to bring Salvia into this analysis, especially since the difference in character between the lsd and mushroom is in the variance of degree of layering.

Why i think it is smart is because salvia (to level 3 light visual) goes through the whole sequence of 2-layers up to 8 or 10-layers in a matter of 90 seconds and then coasts back down to about 4 or 5 layers within 10 minutes hitting baseline the next day or so (afterglow).

Acid (for entertainment purposes ~1 tab more or less) will also go to the same place in about 120 minutes or so and stay there more or less for 5 hours coasting to baseline of 2 or 3 layers in 12 hours.

comparing the scale of effects on these timelines gives you a way to see how the biophysical part of psychedelic is a simple and dependable thing, but can be staged differently and can seem to be very different things.

why they are different is because of shockingly different timelines in which the consciousness goes from ordinary to very reverberant and elasticaly buoyant among a multitude of more slowly passing moments - and then back again.

during 5 minutes it is very hard to come to grips with anything, but during 5 hours you can really get involved with things.

the layering effect is also natural in dreams and emotional states. so when we are overcome with the suddenness of the salvia change we can greatly increase the chemically induced layering by reacting.

I think this happens on acid too but only a little bit, unless the dose was taken in more than one 10 minute period - i.e. redosing during come up (which makes it more mushroom-ish).

I think this happens (emotionally induced additional frame stacking)on mushroom a few times as additional psychedelic enters the blood from digestion, all the way until it is eliminated. This gives a slower ramp for a shorter ride with a kind of maintenance trickle during come down, except with tea in which case it hits more like acid except a bit shorter overall.

of course add to all of that the flavors
and the environments and the expectations and beliefs etc. etc.

I think you are absolutly correct in your hypothosis... but still, I'd like to think that because of the difference in the "quality" if you will, of the cellular chemical memory dealie that you put so well, makes a huge difference on how one will adapt to the "trip" thus leading to different outcomes on how one percieves the effects of said psychedelics.

Sorry that I can't add any further details to this subject... you have a clear cut thesis on how psychedelics and your mind work... I however don't yet.

I have to agree that it really depends on the individual and that individual's thoughts/beliefs. When I was a lot younger (nearly a decade ago) I did A LOT of acid. For 2 1/2 years, every weekend I could find it I did it. Not once did I EVER experience what I would call a "true" hallucination. I had friends that would be on the same stuff I was and take the same amount that would tell me they where seeing all kinds of things. Now don't get my wrong...I saw tracers out the ass, some things looked as if they moved or looked differently (wooden walls moving, things glowing, highway stripes slithering..etc.) I suppose technically this would be called a hallucination, but the personal definition of an hallucination could also be different from person to person. Acid for the most part made me laugh my ass off in most instances, see the world in a different light, and then feel like shit the next day. I have not done mushrooms NEARLY as much as I have LSD, but I do know that there was a very VERY strong difference for me. The general "feel, vibe" was similar but I generally always felt like I was a lot happier on Mushrooms, and and unlike LSD, mushrooms did not give me that "nasty" feeling during or after use. The come down seemed a lot easier and sleep seemed easier to achieve (though not easier on either as I'm sure anyone reading this who has experienced them will already know). Again, as with acid, I never experience on mushrooms what I would define as a true hallucination. I never did a whole bunch of them at a time, but I believe it was enough to be at a level I found comfortably comparable to the level I would achieve on the acid. In my opinion, the trip was much "smoother" and felt more natural. I have talked to many people that have told me they could find hardly any difference in the two. Some claimed they felt just as bad the day after on both. Some said they disliked mushrooms more. I truly believe it is your own personal beliefs that influence the way in which either one of these substances affect you. When I was younger I always thought of acid like "acid" as in "man-made".."hard drug".."Fry your brain", While I saw mushrooms as "coming from mother nature" "natural" and not as toxic. Of course many would argue the mushrooms and LSD are no different when it comes to the long term affects. Its like I said, its all how you perceive it, and what your beliefs are. I never had a bad experience with mushrooms and still consider it cleaner and a more natural high than LSD. I plan on experimenting with mushrooms again but I don't really have the desire to do acid again. Person to person..differentiates..thats what makes us individuals!

life is pretty sweet when people are willing to give you some of their lsd sugar water and girls you freaked out to while on acid kiss you

Ive never taken LSD but i do have an interesting question..

Ive only ever tripped on shrooms once inside, all the other times have been outside. when tripping on shrooms outside i get amazing bright colours along with great distortions on everything around me, connection with everything around me, i feel like i am part of every plant and tree near me and obviously, (even on low doses) my mind doesnt seem my own, my head is in a completely different place and its only after the trip has finished that i can try to make sence of everything i have learned.

Now when tripping inside on shrooms, almost completely opposite, i had some amazing visuals however my mind seemed to work in almost the same way it does normally, i had no connection with anything around me and there were basically no parts of the trip where i felt like i was reeli exploring my own mind, i just felt almost normal but with visual distortions. However as soon as i walked outside i got all the same feelings come back again and would have the biggest mindfuck ever...

i put this down to mushrooms being a much more natural substance, as in, you can pick them, eat them, and trip. because their natural the connection with nature is huge hwever the connection with anything man-made is very minor. Was just wondering if acid has an opposite effect, what sort of mind trip do you get inside compared to outside on acid???

anyone know what im talking about?

I do.

And I find that there is this tendency to feel the greater unity in the constructs of humanity with LSD, and greater unity in the constructs of nature with Mushrooms.

One way I sometimes think to explain this is past vs future:

Mushrooms, their existence being rooted in the past of our universe, create a wider mindspace when a human is in contact with the past experience of humanity. Humanity has had millennia to experience nature and to have nature imprint itself as familiar past experience. Perception of nature triggers cascades of memories and familiarities which span unto infinity looking back, the user experiences clarity and unity in the past of human existence.

LSD, its existence being rooted in human creation- a potential path of the future of our universe, gives rise to a higher breadth mindspace when the user is in contact with subject matter relating to the future. Constructs of the mind (everything from science fictional stories to devices made of thought forced into matter[anything man-made]) bring association with the potential future of humanity. The possibilities span forward unto infinity and give rise to the full effects of the drug. The user experiences the connection and one-ness with what is to become of this universe.

It is, of course, more convoluted than this, and each drug will trigger association in each direction... but in my personal experience each drug seems to have a greater 'comfort level' with a particular temporal direction. Now why this would be? I suppose there could be a number of reasons, none easily explained... could the molecules know their origin with respect to humanity? Could human experience with the drugs imprint itself through the collective subconscious and create these tendencies within humanity? Could it be coincidence?

With acid, the entire time my brian was like this:

IKJDSGOIHSFTW*HFRW*$TU)&N)*&#$_+!#@$_(C(#$_#@I<}X_*$_(*#M}NV<I<OFJGB:KFD

I found insanity, confusion, and absolute breakdown of everything that i knew.

With shrooms i did get the insanity, but there is always a rough patch of every one of my trips. overall with shrooms i find peace and understanding.Acid is confustion and insanity.

Acid leaves long term effects on my aswell. Shrooms i can incorporte into my life very easily. I retain everything i learn, but i am not left with the long term insane feeling as i am with acid. However my opinions are skewed because i did acid during on of the worst times in my life, with one of the worst people, in one of the worst settings. My mushroom trips (just started doing them like 2 months ago) have all been during the currently best time in my life (right now), in good environments with the closest friends i have ever had. Which probably has a huge effect, but all i know is 2 years later (today!! 2 years from my first psychadellic experience) I still have a very very dark view on acid, and extremely good view on shrooms. I feel like i could almost never have a bad trip on shrooms. I have atleast 1 difficult period in all the trips and i do see potential for a bad one, but i see the likelyhood of it VERY low. Acid i feel like there is no way would ever be able to have a good trip after what i went through the first time. However i plan to do it again soon, and all i need is a good acid trip to change that perception

acid is very spacial.

makes you realize more of what space is really about. can't really put it into words, it's just fucking infinite. the depth of space.

mushrooms aren't nearly as spacial for me.
