Mother Nature or Labratory?

Just curious as to weather you guys perfer the mind altering substances that come from the ground or ones that are made in a lab. The only lab related drug I've done is LSD. It was sure a fascinating time but I think I could live the rest of my life just fine with what is growing here on earth. To me shrooms have a better feeling of well being and complete bliss and one with nature. I also think they form a very special bond with people when you do them, lsd didn't really give me that feeling.

Too broad of a question. I treat all drugs equally. Where they come from has nothing to do with their effects and side effects, which is my concern.

Well I have connected with stars and distant lands directly on acid so I think its not always the case that oness with other life has to be with shrooms.

How does a drug made in a lab differ from a naturally grown drug? They all contain some active chemical. Would you consider lab made psilocin to be different to that which naturally occurs in mushrooms? How about synthetic mescaline vs. extracted mescaline? To me this argrument that some people seem to make about lab made drugs being "bad" makes no sense.

i love shrooms more.
i think its because the blotters and liquid ive have gotten has all been really weak.
did 3 "hits" of liquid one time and i felt like i was coming up and then after that coming up feeling it stopped, lol.
plus i can grow and eat my shrooms.

The drugs I manufacture in my lab (god I love saying that) are ones that have come from nature... so I don't really know how to answer that.
Even drugs that are synthesized eventually come from a natural source. LSD is synthetic, yes... but is manufactured from a naturally ocurring chemical found in the ergot fungus.
Other chemicals, though they may be manufactured by adding chemicals to one another inside of controlled conditions, are still made from those chemicals. And all chemicals are the fruits of our earth.
Sure, we draw a distinction of some sort in our minds that differentiates "synthetic" from "natural", but in all truthfulness mankind has never created anything that wasn't 100% natural. The source has always been nature, in some form or another.

the above post is true, and i agree, but come on. you what know what hes really trying to get at.
as for me i like ketamine, fentanyl, and oxycodone. none of those are naturally occuring substances(as far as i know), so id have to say "lab".
btw, damn this thread is old.

I follow the Terence McKenna school of thought in that I tend to think that plants have more 'personality' than lab-chemicals; shrooms and salvia for me have much more distinctive 'personalities' than does acid. I've heard it's the same for ayahuasca, which I'm excited to try this summer.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Did you know there are many other active psychoactives in some naturally growing plants, that are not the main active chemical. well maybe.
