This only happens once in every few months, if that, but there are free signups at http://theoccult.bz! Get one while ya can! I've found TONS of good stuff on this site.

Hope it's alright to post this in S&P, if not go ahead and move it.

Hey c0sm0nautt! Btw, their sister sites thevault.bz (business related site) and theplace.bz (self-help related site) have open signups. Been waiting for 6 months for these 2 sites :cool:

Cool. Only problem is, I just finished downloading 16.1 GB of encyclopedias, 5.5 GB of physics texts, and 2.5 GB of assorted PDFs. Fook! I am set for reading for another few years now... I think I went overboard.

Yea man, if your ratio goes down you get booted off. You can donate 25 bucks for like 20 gigs of DLs though... Well worth it for the amount of stuff your getting for free IMO.

No no, I mean with torrents. I haven't got anything off this site yet. I've had to purchase data blocks to cover the quota usage though, which means so far I've paid $40, but these texts all up probably approach $100,000 or more, especially because of the encyclopedias which weigh in at around 120mb each in PDF format. So it's worth it. I'm just wondering if I should bother looking around for anything else to read at this point...

Yea, your supposed to seed. You need to DL 10+gig to be in trouble of getting kicked off, and they give you over a month in advance. I found it easier just to donate 15 bucks for 10 gig of DL.

Your other option is pay into a really nice UseNet service...and reap the massive pile of books within there. They both have they're pros and cons. Though, there is no 'uploading' when it comes to UseNet, Just a monthly bill for a wad of bandwidth. Sometimes there is rare books found in both realms of the internet. I've used both...they both have they're pros and cons. But if you end up never being able to catch up on the ratio's, then you might be better off going with Usenet if you download enough (plus you get speeds that dwarf torrents)

I'm at 2TB of documentaries, lectures, and thousands of pdfs. There is no way that I'll be able to read them all in this lifetime. Gonna have to be buried with my hard drive.

Also at this site, you'll find gems that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere, exclusive torrents. Such as C.S. Hyatts Black Book's 1-6. There's a whole entheogen section on the site.

It's not hard to keep a good ratio, just continually share the files you download. Also c0sm0naut is right, it's completely worth donating to these guys for bandwidth.
