The Trickster, The Coyote, Luscifer

Last night I had a reoccurring dream; giddily fleeing from someone that I managed to upset, almost always someone of authority.  Earlier it was mafiosos, last night it was a school dean or some shit, either way, the experience is always of me running very quickly and without any difficulty away from someone because of some unknown mischievous act.

As part of my escape, I hopped onto a train that started moving and took me into the woods.  I jumped off into soft grass and suddenly the tracks were gone.  I stumbled upon a group of people I had seen earlier, and as we walked through the forest a blue coyote came out from behind a tree and changed colors while flashing this hella trippy smile that served as a signal of some kind.  We all were like "yup, that's IT" i didn't realize what IT was until I woke up and thought about it.  As the fleeing one, I was the trickster, the coyote, the leprechaun, and he was kind enough to reveal himself to me in a form I could identify in waking life.

I think a great example of this archetype in western mythology is Luscifer.  Just like Prometheus, he brings light, apparently stolen from god.  And what is this light?  It is the intellect, the ability to challenge the God made cycles of nature, the ability to question one's instinct and one's very existence.  It's no wonder Christians see this ability as evil; it defies the ways of the nature, it defies the God that created the garden.  Not only that, but it can be used for pure evil, to bring us further away from unity and deeper into division and darkness.

However, this light is also what lets us escape the circles and return with better ideas about how to do things, how to act in our own way as we see fit.  For the longest time I struggled with the idea of "light," "knowledge of good and evil" or the prometherean "fire."  Buddhism, Christianity and other faiths have told me to revoke this ability, to turn off the ego, and I mistook that for reverting back to the id, the root chakra if you will.  I understand now that the ego is flawed; it shouldn't be exalted as God itself, but that it is also the bridge to union with the ONE, the crown chakra.  Through this union we can act as workers on behalf of oneness, bringing what we learn from our experience back into the mundane world in the hopes of making things better.  Though perhaps, instead of simply improving or degrading, we are now put on a much larger wave of activity.  idk.  either way, those are my thoughts, thanks for reading!

*another though* you could say it is what lets us build up a pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow as do the leprechauns, another famous mythical trickster.

What are your guys'/gurls' thoughts about the will, the light?  it's a topic that has fascinated me for some time and I'm glad to finally be making some headway on my understanding of it; any additional wisdom would be greatly appreciated and likely reciprocated in good time!

Lucifer is an anthropomorphism of Venus - That's what Venus translates to - Lucifer - Morning Star. Being that the Sun is God, the only light that challenges God or the Sun, is Lucifer aka. "Day Star."

^^^^Sweet did not know that, I really oughta learn more about astrology to better understand these mythical archetypes 'n shit.  I've heard venus is like the earth's "evil twin" because it's quite similar to us but all hot and uninhabitable for most life...sounds simply hellish to me haha  :headbanger:

It's definitely a very awesome study, and IMO, before you can understand the stories of these "humanized deities," you must first understand their personifications; this is when these stories begin to make more sense. Even if these deities/gods/goddesses/etc. weren't just anthropomorphisms (meaning, they "came down as humans or extra-terrestrials") without the origins or original meanings (the personifications) - they are useless.

Awesome thanks man.  I'm starting to read Hamlet's Mill as well, though I prefer youtube videos for my existential education (must be the trippy visuals and ambient music keeping my ever hungry senses fed lol).

No problem, btw, Hamlet's Mill sounds pretty interesting, how is that book going for you?

I'm actually one who tries to stay away from Youtube videos, because out of all the great informational videos that are on there, there's also a ton of disinformation. Which makes it hard for some people to pick and choose what they want to believe; they can watch one video, and believe on thing, then the next second watch another video and completely change their minds. I do see how some people take a liking to it though, as you briefly explained why  :laugh:

Anyways...Does Venus appear in the western sky after sunset?

Im beginning to see a very bright star in the west from about 7-9:30 in the evening...It's so bright, that you can see it shining perfectly while there is still blueness to the sky...

Not really, but I know the Mayans and many other cultures worshiped all planetary bodies besides the Sun, Earth and Moon. I dont necessarily follow cycles or understand them - I simply respect their power and greatness.

To answer your questions, Venus has been appearing both during the day, and almost every night after Sunset here in New Jersey.

That "very bright star" you are speaking of, is Venus - it's not a star but a planet  :smile:  It lately has been popping up during the evening/night, when you are supposed to only see it very early in the morning - however these past few years you are beginning to see it much more frequently. You can usually find it beside the Moon; however, sometimes you just have to look up and seek the brightest light in the night's sky and you will immediately find it - that's Venus:

It's not always by the Moon. Sometimes it's resides by the Sun, but many of times it's within close proximity of the Moon.

Venus is the bright white light by the moon, and mars has the orangy hue.

I guess you can use this chart to figure out whether not it's Venus for you - but if it's the brightest - that usually means Venus:

I've only cracked Hamlet's Mill at this point, pretty dense but I feel like once I get into it it'll come a little easier.  It has, however, caused me to smoke less weed so I can read a damn book again :tongue: comics and the internet have changed my mind's gearing quite a bit.  Yea the youtube videos are fun but so much of the information is shaky and not cited that it forces one to do a lot of sifting to find some gold.  Thanks for the torrent hookup, I'll have to check that out!

I ask because I briefly looked it up and the topics it covers seems pretty interesting. Most of this stuff is dense on the surface, but once you get into it all unfolds. I quit smoking weed entirely just so I can read a book and remember what I read. I used to always smoking weed, then read a book (sometimes the whole book), but the issue was that I only was retaining the information for myself; which is not the best for spreading knowledge to another. Now I feel I have to go back and read those books all over again. 

Youtube videos are indeed fun, but there are very few who have citations and sources to back up their claims as you said. Many a time its just one misinformed Youtuber battling another... but no prob on the torrent hookup, there's so much on there you wont even know where to start.
