Omens and Coyotes

I'm not usually much of a superstitious type of person. However, I have read Castaneda a few times, and recall that the coyote was seen as a significant being as far as omens and such things go. I've seen a coyote once in my life, in captivity. That's it.

Then in the past 3 or 4 days, I saw two coyotes. First, I saw a coyote jog right past me on my campus, which struck me as very strange as there were a number of people around, and it was broad daylight. Then just yesterday I was driving home and passed what appeared to be a dead coyote right next to me on the highway.

I don't know if this even means anything beyond a weird couple days, but is anyone familiar with animals and what (if any) significance they have?

I've seen two foxes in very peculiar instances as well, what do foxes mean?

all I know about coyotes is that they are considered very wise/powerful but deceitful, so they can be very obscure totems for different people

dont you mean fox dude? i dont think they live there?
could have been a red fox. i see those alot
seeing an animal where it shouldnt be is probably a sign that someone destroyed its habitat (cut down the woods to make a shit city)..
I always see foxes around here... well not always, but more than i ever had before. A few years ago i saw 2 foxes in the woods when it was snowing. that was beautiful!
If you trust native americans, check out coyote totem, or fox totem
