I have thought about this before, as I believe the key to truth is evaluating all the possibilities. On this issue it definitely just seems like the anti-drug side is lacking in real facts and going by false assumptions.

Clearly false, If I could not make a rational decision on drugs I would have died by now. In fact, I can say most drugs have never caused me to act irrationally.

No idea why he would have that opinion UNLESS he has never experienced psychedelics for himself. I have an uhh.. acquaintance that says the same thing, he has never tried them. I tried to get him to take piracetam and he refused stating that he didn't want to disrupt how his brain was naturally because that was the most beneficial state. I personally think its silly to assume that having not experienced any other state.

Brainwashed is not the correct term. Drugs do tweak out perception to a point where we think differently, but not any more irrationally than normal(heroic doses don't count). That is where the magic is. The ability to rethink things from another perspective is great.

Look at all of the people with great ideas who have used drugs.
With Steve Jobs saying LSD was one of the most important experiences in his life, and Francis Crick attributing his discovery of the structure of DNA to LSD there seems to be a real usefulness to drugs.
