wrong. a term can have negative or positive connotations, to deny that is stupid, don't use bullshit semantics to scapegoat the obvious meaning of the terms you use.

first off, the term "druggie" is definitly a negative term, this is exemplified in your post when you say:

-"My distaste for "druggies" makes me a bit hesitant....."
-"I guess what bothers me most is when people only want to see/practice one aspect of a thing."

all of these statements support the idea that the term "druggies" is a negative term.

Atomik's onto something here. Don't deny the negative connotations of the word "druggie."

I know this guy who was going out with this girl. They'd been going out for awhile and then he decided that he wanted to fuck this other girl, so he did. But then he's the type to blow things into bigtime spiritual things, and he told his girlfriend that it was so much more than just cheating.. it was such an amazing connection blah blah blah. Bullshit, there was nothing more going on than when rabbits screw eachother in the woods. Same with the druggie thing. Druggies talk in terms of getting fucked up we use words like "transendence" and "manifest" and "spiritual" but it's all crap. We're just getting ourselves fucked up, and it's great!

I suggest you get over your silly ideas, Ego. You don't have to hang out with these "druggies" but you have to acknowledge that you are made uncomfortable by them because they are different, and that's scary for you, which is dumb. They deserve your respect. They see a pill, they pop it, mushrooms, they scarf 'em, weed they smoke it. You do all this reading, learn words like "entheogen" and then slowly decide that yes, you want to do what comes naturally (getting fucked up). These druggies of yours just jump right in. What's up your ass??? EAT SOME SHROOMS AND PULL IT OUT!

its like cliff jumping, druggies dont examine the height or analyze the risk, they just jump off with their eyes closed, and unfortunatly, many smash their skulls in the shallow water.

dude, we don't all start out on the same level. psychedelics were designed by god so that even the most idiotic moron could find enlightenment with them. That doesn't mean that all psychedelic users are idiots- we all just start doing them at deffirent stages of development.

todays pleasure tripper is tommorows guru, or expert physicist, or marine biologist, or computer programmer, or alien consciousness, or whatever...

some people see what they need from drugs and move on- others need constant confirmation of the knowledge they provide and never quit, although still leading productive lives.

But even someone who approaches drug use hedonistically is eventually going to see things that inspire them to be a better person

also I must say you seem real judgemental about people. remember that we are all here for different reasons and it usually takes several lifetimes to accomplish everything that is neccesary to leave this particular planet.

It doesn't matter if people are using drugs for good or bad reasons, whether just to do them, or to seek enlightenment. Over time, people will learn something from them. They can inspire you by showing you that you're not getting anywhere in life, or they can inspire creativity. There are no drug stereotypes, as there are even stereotypes in the drug world. Junkies, blacks, stoners, all very much different. Ask yourself this, if you were best friends with a person, and learned a few years after knowing them that they did drugs, would you still be their friend? If god didn't want human to indulge in these substances, they wouldn't be here today.
