Fun side story:

The coir that was used with just a few grains to get the rhizo growth never really colonized at all, it just stayed as rhizo arms everywhere.

But now all of a sudden it is pinning like mad.  Dozens, maybe hundreds of tiny side pins have appeared, growing right on the uncolonized coir.  Wild stuff.  It will be interesting to see if they grow at all or just stay tiny.
