I overheard a conversation in my last day of class. One person was asking for an explanation of the creation of the earth in 7 days. The religious person answered, "well,God has a different perspective of time. God's years are different from our years." meaning that there was ans explanation of the dino bones and such.

Then the question of incest came up because we all have to be incestuous due to the Adam and Eve philosophy. They had no answer for this. I looked it up and there was something that said because the bloodlines were so pure and good in those days, no genetic deformities happened due to this.

It also said that it was necessary for bro/sis/cousin/mom/dad to all procreate with each other until there was enough people to not "have" to do this. I am still stunned by this. Anyone care to elaborate?

I know these religious threads are boring/mundane to some.:peace::heart::mushroom2:

People genetically turned out fine.
AND the world was so corrupt that it pissed God right the fuck off so he flooded the Earth. But he saved Noah's family.
So, the Earth was actually repopulated by Noah, his wife, their three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives.

So they were cousins that repopulated the Earth.  The Bible says nothing about having sex with your cousin.  It says do not have sex with your parents, your parents siblings, any of your parents children, any of your parents siblings spouses.  It says if you are a MAN do not have sex with another MAN. (It says nothing about women sleeping with each other, btw. So lesbians are totally cool to God.) And it says don't have sex with animals.

Nothing about cousins though. :shrug:

This is basically how it was explained to me when I was younger. Because they didn't have any answers about the initial creation, just how the world was repopulated.  I'd imagine that "God said it was okay just that one time, so they did it." or something of the sort.

people create an image of god to explain what cannot be explained in an attempt to allieve their minds unanswerable questions.  the earth was not created in seven days and adam and eve never existed.  infinity has been here for an infinitely long time, there was no start and there will be no end, the first infinitely small speck of matter appeared randomly and expanded from there

Im pretty sure god knows what a day is... A day is a day.  Its not a year, its not a billion years.

What kind of deceptive creator would use the word 'day' to mean a day everywhere but in the beginning of genesis where day somehow means billions of years.
