As far as I know the family just kind of hushed it up and the mom left town after having the baby. They were from Prince Edward Island, a tiny backwater province on the East Coast of Canada.

My great grandfather, great uncle and cousin is from PEI. I never met him.

Just got into GOT a month ago, watched all the episodes on demand.  That's the pro way.  I find it highly entertaining.  Not gonna lie took me some time to sort out all the different families or clans if you will.  I always thought it was like lord of the rings before I watched it, thats why I never checked it out sooner.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I like that the gritty real middle ages feel is mixed in with fantasy. 

Incest was extremely common in royal families and even in common folk.  Chances are one of your ancestors was conceived via incestual relationship.  I remember hearing that it was common for people to be born and die in the same place back in the day.  Maybe in a lifetime traveling not more than 5-10 miles outside where they were born.  Its likely someone is fucking their sister or not so distant relative in that type of scenario.

That's rough. My friends sisters boyfriend molested his child and knocked one of his baby teeth out... and the family hushed up too. I guess people dont like attracting attention. Its tough. How did you find out? Little birdy? Can families get justice anonymously like without drawing too much media attention? There are so many stories like this


My wife is friends with her and she told her. I believe the grandfather is now dead but the uncles are still alive I guess. I would guess that the mother does not intend to pursue anything legally by this point. It would have been about 30 years ago that this happened. In general though I'm not sure if you can really keep things quiet in these cases if someone is being prosecuted. It's possible for judges here to issue publication bans in some situations so maybe that could be employed.
