New weed anti smoking ad

I heard on the radio the other day this new weed anti smokin ad. It said that weed has like double the tar and shit in it and crap. I dont know if ne of this is tru. wat do u all think.

I heard part of it earlier today. I dunno if that tar bullshit is true but i know that Marijuana does not cause cancer so they can fuck off. And were.....Still smokin

From what I've gathered (and I could be wrong, though I think for the most part this is true), marijuana has a significantly higher amount of tar (two times or greater) as well as having a greater affinity for sticking to your lung tissue.  At the same time, THC is a bronchial dialator.

So what does this mean?  Well, here's my take on it.

Smoking marijuana Vs. tobacco gram for gram are most likely equally as dangerous (though marijuana does contain more tar, cigarettes also contain hundreds of added chemicals - many of which are carcinogenic).  But here's the catch, cigarette smokers who smoke half a pack a day are likely smoking 10 grams... now I don't know about you, but I sure as hell don't smoke 10 grams of herb in a day.  This is why, in my opinion, you don't see cancer deaths reported from marijuana though I'm sure if you smoked enough that you could.

Now, since THC is a broncial dialator, that means that it essentially opens up your lungs and allows for greater absorbtion of oxygen.  So what's the obvious answer ladies and gents?  Either oral or vaporized THC is the way to go! Via this method, there is no combustion and thus no tars and no carcinogens, plus you get all the beneficial aspects of the THC  :cool:

Marijuana is definately not healthy for your body. You've got to live a little, though.

Also, any lung damage which isn't fatal can repair itself. Yes, that's right, your lungs repair themselves. Your brain does not, however, there has not been any conclusive evidence that Marijuana causes any brain damage. There has, however, been evidence that alcohol does...

Er, right, I think I should point out that marijuana does not cause any *permanent* brain damage. Most studies conclude that it lowers IQ for about a week, though I imagine certain individuals have differing opinions on that..

There's a lot of bullshit going around about marijuana. I like to think of myself as an unbiased expert when it comes to weed.

I just sent freevibe.com a very lengthy email debunking everything they state. If you have the time, I highly suggest you go to freevibe.com and check out the "facts" about marijuana..you won't believe your eyes. They tell pure likes, yall. Pure lies. For instance, they claim marijuana will make you 5 times more likely to steal and 4 times more likely to commit a violent act of rage. Aint that some shit?

Does weed have tar? Yes, of course. And of course ANY smoke you inhale into your lungs isn't gonna be incredibly good for your health.

The only negative side effect that comes along with smoking weed that hasn't been debunked is clouded memory. And I mean, if you smoke a blunt every now and then, nothing's gonna happen. It takes years and years of CONSTANT weed smoking to do that to ya.

u won't get as high w/ a vaporizer, And it doesn't burn the bud completely. I used to have one. Get a bong, vaperizer is waste of money.

I wouldn't be so sure monotone. I've seen evidence that drugs can negatively affect a person's personality. Ie, more likely to steal, cheat, lie, etc.

Just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen...

As far as freevibe is concerned, I chalk it up to a lost cause. Their goal is to discourage drug use, so they'll use any tactic necessary - including misinformation.

But I have a lotta beef with Cracka_X's statment on vaporizors.

My AromaZap has afforded me with healthy smoke and up to twice the efficiency a bong/pipe/joint has. Granted, it's a slightly different high due to the few alkaloids that are not activated through the 250-some degree heat of the vaporizor. However, THC-wise, the vaporizor is extremely efficient, much moreso than combustion. You, my friend, have not been using the right vapes, or have not been using them correctly.

i believe that when they test for tar they compare tobacco leaves with marijuana leaves, the marijuana leaves do contain way more tar than tobacco, but who smokes leaves? the bud only has 1/3 the tar of the leaves

plus the fact that tobacco is radioactive and the bronchial closing effect and the insoluble tars hold the radioactive isotopes up against your lung tissue for years

I read on erwig that when u smoke u get those cancerous cells that everyone is so worried about(Smoking in general) But the problem with cigs is they contain nicotine. Ur body naturaly disposes of the cancerous cells UNLESS u have smoke cigs and have nicotine in u. Nicotine Causes these cancerous cells to build up and build up until there are so many they cause watever. just goto erowig and read up on it, theres tons of info.

Well weed aint that good for you, it does lower IQ, screw up your memory, makes you lazy and sorta kill all your emotions. I remember reading some where that cannabis is also sort of self medication for people who are depressed.

Basicly I have had to cut down cos of uni and the fact that its makeing me one lazy bastard with no memory.

I've got an Aromazap as well.. I too can vouch that it does not get me any less stoned than smoking does. The high is a little cleaner, and it really lets you taste your herb. I also save up all of the used material and use it to cook with. I can get 12 potent pieces of cake out of 15-16 grams... Usually when people have a problem with vaporizors it is because they bought a globe one from the local head shop. There are several quality convection style vaporizors online that work wonderfully. They cost about as much as a nice glass piece but your lungs are worth the $100.

as far as vaporizers go, i have an ETERRA, which while expensive, is really nice. you do use a lot less to get high, and there is zero smell at all, so you can use it in non-smoking places without an issue. it does take longer to do though, so as nice as it is i sometimes get frusterated and just smoke it anyway.
another thing-- my friend took all the 'used' leaves and smoked them again, so he got high twice off the same weed. i should try baking it though-- that would probably work way better.

My outlook on weed is this. I smoke everyday practically. Sometimes before school, and definitely after school. I maintain fairly good grades, and I am going to college next year. If anything has happened to me from smoking pot, I think it is that I have only gained knowledge. Pot causes me to really analyze things. To really really think about them, get every aspect. Pot is good.

I just read freevibe, that was pretty funny stuff.

I think some of the links they make between marijuana and crime/etc. are not completely wrong.  I think what they do is completely misrepresent the studies they are going from.  What I mean is, they say "people who smoke marijuana...." they don't say "marijuana causes people....".

Now look at what exactly they are saying.  People who are more likely to take risks, are probably going to be more likely to take the risk of smoking marijuana.  A person who disobeys laws against violence, disobeys laws against theivery, or doesn't buy into school, then yes, these rebelious people are probably more likely to take the risk of getting arrested with marijuana.

People who do bad things smoke marijuana, its a case of people who are more apt to disregard laws.  Marijuana itself does not cause ANY of these things, but is only related to those who commit illegal acts because marijuana is illegal.

Get what I'm sayin? :laugh:
