the only smokable shrooms are of the amanitas muscaria variety (red caps), and you only smoke the skin above the gills.  i have done this, and the experience was so mild, i couldn't tell if it was simply an oxygen-deprivation high.  this is not a trip tip, and will be moved to general questions.  not to mention it's been asked a hundred times. the search function on the top menu bar comes in quite handy sometimes :wink:

I smoke my shrooms all the time.
I usually smoke some big aborts and they tend to deffinatelly stone me way more than the herb.
I smoked some with a friend who only smokes herb and has never tried shrooms and he was wasted.

Why don't you try EATING them? You might find the effects from those small aborts would be more than just a stoning. I doubt anyone has ever tripped for the full duration of a shroom trip by smoking.

I have grown a batch of big aborts
not little tiny blue things.
Don`t assume I`m a moron, I know what I`m doing.
I have enough muchrooms to pretty much shove them up my ass if I want.
But I like to smoke them, and I take them when I please.
ANd they give more than just a little stoning.
Hell man these aborts fuck most ppl up off 2 aborts when ingesting them
ANd this is tried and tested between a group of 6 ppl and my wife.
So if I want to smoke them I will.
and I`ll continue enjoying it.

Try it first before you knock it.
Alternatelly, take some shrooms and smoke a pipe of herb/shrooms
See what it does to you.

Servator they actually smoke very well.
If they`re cracker dry they just taste like mushroom when smoked.
I can tell you now that everytime I trip I smoke mushrooms to initially bring on my experience and then when coming down I use it to highten my comedown.
Along with loads of herb.

This isn't about expanding horizons. This is about what works best. And that is ingesting them. Heat destroys psilocybin, and what happens when you light a bowl? Yes, heat.
I'm not worried about ingesting 3 or 4 grams. I just think it's an absolutely pitiful waste. Shrooms were never meant to be smoked, and for the obvious reasons.

Actually, DMT is supposedly present in psilocybin mushrooms, albeit in low quantities. Therefore, if you smoked enough in the correct fashion, Id imagine youd get off, but it would be a lot more feasible just to eat them.

You can't smoke psilocybin mushrooms. It's an urban myth. When that renowned bullshitter Carlos Castenada was writing "The teachings of Don Juan" he didn't know anything about mushrooms so he guessed they were like marijuana and could be smoked. That's probably why the myth gained so much prominence.

When someone told him that you don't smoke them he changed his later books to say he ate them.

i totally agree with you. i've smoked them before and it worked just fine. i ate 3 grams and smoked two, and it did bring on the trip faster. i know it works.
and whoever it was that said mushrooms weren't meant to be smoked...when did you get a telephone call from God? lol, i mean, cannabis is better when ingested too...but saying it was never meant to be smoked. how do you know ANYTHING was meant to be smoked? that's kinda backwards thinking there.

I hate to be blunt and rude, but you're a moron. You can't get high smoking mushrooms. Psilocybin breaks down before it vaporizes. The only way it *might* be possible to smoke psilocybin is with the drug in pure form in a vaporizer. Any effects you might have are purely your own imagination, or perhaps baeocystin can be smoked. In any case, you're wasting your aborts.

I have never had any noticable psychological effects from smoking shrooms (in Amsterdam :wink: ). The only thing it did was cause what I call  'mushroom eyes'. That feeling you get in your eyes when tripping. Kinda like psychedelic red eye. Hard to descrbe.

Actually the Bananadine thing was made up by some students (I beleive at MIT) and I find it hillarious that you refer to the Anarchist Cookbook as your source.

I've smoked shrooms before. It was pretty sweet. My friend and I were going to dose at like 5 PM. It was 1 pm that day, and I was waiting for my friend to get home from work. we had a quarter of shrooms for the 2 of us, so i put it in the coffee grinder. i smoked 2 medium sized bowls of it, and got pretty messed up. it was like i was really stoned, but it was very clear and intense, and it lasted for like 3 hours. then an hour later, we dosed just under 1/8 for each of us, and we tripped real hard that afternoon. it was sweet.

i forgot to mention, when i smoked the shrooms...i held the lighter flame away from the mushroom, so a much lower heat was affecting the mushroom. i was real messed up.

BTW: For those of you getting effects from bannana peels, check out isle 3 in K-mart and pick up 5 packs of sticky post it note, the packs with 200 to a stack. Do an extraction with cat piss and naptha, this will take about 3 weeks, them reduce the liquid medium until it thickens to a smoking consistency, now that shit is KILLER!!!!!! Still not quite as good as bannana peels, but its right up there with it!!

Back to reality....the shroomerys purpose is to put an end to urban ledgend about mushrooms, and this can also be applied to other drugs discussed here as well.
