Re: gowth conditions favorable to cobweb mold?

Just from experience (i'm no expert) I
can tell you that unfortunately cob-web
likes the perfect cubensis casings and substrate.

On the upside if you have good air exchange
you reduce your chances of getting it
SIGNIFICANTLY as also that of Mr. Forest Green.

exactly, cobweb likes stagnant air. increase air exchanges & it'll die off.

Cobweb is very irritating I agree. I normally will give the jars a nice H2O2 bath when their hit.

Hi,
I use to do what bluhoney does. When I dealt with cakes, I'd birth them and then give them a few good (but light) sprays of H2o2. I did the same with casings.

From what I've noticed, if you spary your casing with H2o2 right after you mix in your substrate, you greatly reduce the chances of getting cobweb mold. A good air exchange is also VERY much needed:-)

yeah but i got it when my casings were incubating w/ aluminum foil on them. as i understand it, during this stage you dont want gas exchange so that you can control pinning formation.
