Re: Practicality of kundalini, chakras, and even kriyas? [Re: Icelander]
    #12033197 -

Yes, that's right...I have distinguished my own opinion from fact.

Fact: Pineal gland concentrations of fluoride can reach up to 21,000 ppm, higher than any other part of the body.

I don't believe in any religious god...Truth is my God. discovering my own existence to be a paradox wasn't a walk in the park, and I wish you wouldn't belittle my opinion. It is about awareness. There is a very "real" egoic consciousness that, in my opinion, it is our main goal in life to transcend.

I made up my mind...that I would refuse to make up my mind.

And that has made all the difference.

and I wish you wouldn't belittle my opinion.

When did I do that?

or as my dear old dad used to say.

Sounds like an opinion borrowed from a book as it has no other basis.

To your credit. So death anxiety has possibly been lessened or gone underground. My belief along with Becker is that it never goes away completely and will always be a prime mover in our lives.

Maybe you'd like to read on it. Check out "Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker.

I don't know what will happen after death but I do believe it is possible to eliminate conscious death anxiety.  Unconscious death anxiety is another matter entirely and as this is just as unverifiable as any of Freud's psychological theories I'd prefer not to contemplate it.  :satansmoking:

Look deeply at your actions for whatever you do and think, then follow it back to the source. Maybe you will find it. I certainly did but I'm older and wiser.

I haven't read Becker's book yet (any pdf out there?) but if his final answer is Faith then I think this destroys conscious belief in one's own mortality, provided one goes about it the right way.  Naturally I could just be deluding myself as I don't have a gun pointed in my face right now of course...

Read it and then decide. Ever seen someone say they would take a risk and then back out when the time came?

Wasn't there something about how one must be symbolically dismembered before becoming a shaman?
