DeathCompany, do you believe that cannabis is physically addictive?

.

I have not read much on the subject and I don't haven't smoked weed in years but in my experience with stimulants like meth and a little coke, the comedown and negative effects are quite physically uncomfortable.. From what i rememebr i never got much as far as physical withdrawls from mj maybe just having trouble sleeping and irritability.. So I guess weed is physically addictive but not on such a high level as stimulants.

I've smoked cannabis actively for the last 8 years. I smoke it once or twice a week on average and not once have I experienced any form of withdrawl when I had to go without.

When I smoke weed regularly and stop use, I get disturbed sleep and loss of appetite, which are physical symptoms.

Perhaps the distinction is more in terms of severity.  Alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opiates all seem to produce far worse withdrawals than amphetamines or cocaine; if you quit a daily coke habit you won't be faced with involuntary vomiting and shitting coupled with feeling like you're freezing while sweat pours off you as with quitting a daily opiate habit.

On the topic of weed I have definitely read many accounts of people who smoked it daily for years who got horrible insomnia, anxiety and depression when they quit.

The only times i have heard some say or show evidence of physical withdrawls from marijuana is when they smoke every day and not just once a day but a number of times each day.

Yeah, not if you're smoking it once or twice a week. Try a couple grams of high quality herb a day for 5 years and see what happens.  Can't eat a goddamn thing for days, nausea and vomiting immediately after waking up, extreme anxiety, tremors, extreme irritability (no trouble sleeping for me though, I guess I lucked out on that one).  It's not the same for everyone, but a lot of people experience a lot of those symptoms when quitting long-term heavy use.

SWIM only smokes high quality bud when he does, SWIM has a grow your own thing going on, or at least that's what I was told.

SWIM has smoked an entire ounce in one sitting before and SWIM used to smoke every single day. The worst thing SWIM ever had happen was occasional nausea and anxiety. SWIM did barf when SWIM smoked the entire ounce.

I hate it when all my stoners friend DENY weed having phsyical withdrawls or any negative effects liek loss of short term memory which is is shown in a number of studies. They are so stubborn its liek they want their drug to be fucking perfect so the  lie to themselves and actually believe it.

Off topic but the other day some guy on xbox live was calling em an idiot for saying weed is a stimulant and a depressant. he kept saying that drugs cant be both, they can only be one or the other.

If only he would open up a book.

So is SWIM(lol) saying that weed is not physically addictive in the sense it does not cause physical withdrawls for just him or for everyone who smokes weed?

SWIM is saying that for him weed did not prove physically addictive. SWIM thinks that it may definitely be addictive to other people however for SWIM it is not. SWIM does admit he stopped smoking everyday because SWIM began suffering from short term memory loss around his 17th birthday. SWIM is happy with his current smoking regiment.

Please stop using SWIM.  It doesn't prevent legal liability and only makes posts more annoying to read.

Yes SWIM is just using SWIM to be funny.

SWIM also has not committed any crimes and therefore no evidence against SWIM will hold up in court.

SWIM also doesn't believe the police would use SWIM's post on the shroomery against him in a court of law nor does SWIM think the police would even look for his posts on the shroomery if they where to arrest him.

No I was really using it to be funny.

I don't think police can file a search warrant with a post on a website as their only evidence.

I'm just glad the shroomery is not one of those sites where every member uses swim or those sayings like, "my pet goldfish" or "in a dream I had" or "afoaf" or "swim"

Seriously Ive been to sites when looking up stuff on google and every sing post has one of those in it. Its like something so  illogical that junior high or high school students came up with and  actually believe to be a bullet proof defense in court.

I'm not really sure but I agree they probably wouldn't use it as a warrant but if they did use posts in a court  it would be used as a evidence to support what someone has done after they have already raided the house or you have been arrested.

I know it. I think it's kinda cute.

anyways I didn't even know what swim meant until like a month ago so all those sites that make you use it where totally lost on me when I used google.

It feels kind of retro in a weird way to use swim every now and again.
