US should have no problem advancing out of the group :shrug:

It will be nice getting to play a quality team such as England soo early in play as well. England could very well win the World Cup next year.

I believe we are 3rd favourite to win, and i don't doubt it, we have a really strong team at the moment. Yeah I feel we (eng) got a really good draw comapared to some poor souls. G

Not including South Africa you have the lowest FIFA ranking of all the seeded teams and there is an unseeded team (Portugal obviously) ranked ahead of you. I would be amazed if you were the third favorite to win.

Regardless the draw is good for both of us. While I don't necessarily think it will happen I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if the US could beat England. I guess not having Oneywu and Davies hurts a lot. Hopefully Oneywu will be able to play then, that would be huge.

LS: What's even scarier is there's a chance Brazil could trip up and not make it out of the group stage.

There's nothing to see about. They're ranked ninth right now. They really aren't that good. Not trying to say they're bad, but aside from South Africa I'd say I'd most want to be in their group. Or maybe Argentina's based on how they played during qualifying.

Every four years England is supposed to be top contenders and they just keep disappointing.  Which is not to say that I don't think their full strength squad isn't netter than the US, just that they quadrennially seem to underperform.

I agree with the people who say every world cup England get way over hyped and then fail via penalties anywhere below the semi-finals.

"Brazil are favourites at 9-2 with Argentina second favourites at 5-1.

Euro 2008 champs Spain are third favourites at 15-2, while Euro 2008 chumps England are somehow fourth favourites at 8-1."
