Based on my patented system of picking a winner based solely on the country with the better marijuana and with no regard to actual football skill, I think Costa Rica should pull it off.
They have the edge in that the police force is almost nonexistant and the environment is perfect for pot. They also have miles of beaches and ocean that are the perfect place to fire one up. These two things almost completely negate Germany's advantageous position right next to Holland.
Plus, how good can the weed be in Germany? Hitler was from Germany, and they have all those Nazis, and those guys obviously didnt smoke too much pot...

query: why are you angles always represented by a red cross on white background in competition?

I pick Portugal for obvious reasons

Figo (Inter Milan), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Pauleta (Paris Saint-Germain) and Deco (Barcelona) makes one of the most impressive fronts ever !!! Couple that with Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea) and Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea) to make one of the best defenses.

Btw, I'm with the brits on this world cup as well. Go England !!! Portugal-England was the BEST game of the 2004 Euro. Any team could have won that game, it was awesome, what a thrill !

America has some pretty good players. Donovan and Beasley being two. Our goalkeeper is top-notch, one of the best in the world, in the opinion of my south american co-workers...

That was a pretty sweet opener. I just caught the last few minutes of the first half and all of the second, but wow....
I was definately impressed. I dont claim to know squat about soccer, but that last goal sure did look pretty....
