halp...need to know best solvent i dont gotta go online to get to make HONEY OIL

dont wanna use butane...heard alot of bad things about impurities in most butane


so, i saw you can use acetone...acetone some pretty clean stuff once evapd...also saw 99% isopron alcohol...too bad no one sells that gotta get it online....which is better 99 isopron alcohol or acetone??

also what other solvents work? like which one is the best in all you guy's experience.

Personally, I have only used butane and I have had excellent results although I would like to try another method.  I ended up with only a few grams worth of oil from an entire ounce of dirt weed.  I would use a plastic toothpick to spread it on my blunts for a TRUE honey blunt...  I even made my own honey oil extraction tube from some pipe parts that I purchased from Home Depot

just heard so much shit about butane frequently leaving impurities when dried...maybe its just for the zippo/lighter fluid type and there is a pure type out there? i dunno, dont wanna risk smokin butane residue anyway...

This is what I use: 


It has worked every time for me.  Butane also has a very low boiling temperature.  If you place your collection vessel into a pan of warm water, the butane will boil off very fast leaving only the desired oil behind.

betcha acetone is cheaper than lighter fuel butane anyway...and cleaner...if it gives the same amount of oil dunno why yall would still be usin lighter fuel

so looks like butane is better to use for a more potent product than acetone...as acetone isnt completely nonpolar...where butane is

buuut hexane is all non polar just like butane...and i bet you can get a huge tin of it at home depot for real cheap, cheaper than if you bought a bunch of lil butane tins...plus hexane probably evaps cleaner...

so my advice would be chuck the butane and start using hexane

You're going to have a hard time finding hexane because it is carcinogenic. If you can find pentane that would probably work well.

If not just use denatured alcohol. It's a mix of ethanol and methanol, both of which evaporate cleanly. To test to see if your solvent will evaporate cleanly put a few drops on a clean piece of glass and let it evap then look for residue.

I'd probably avoid acetone for the extraction, it's such a good solvent that it'll probably pull a bunch of shit out that you don't want. Acetone dissolves most plastics for Christ sake.

kanglow: Rosonol butane doesn't evaporate cleanly. Probably want to find another brand.

They all work well, I'd go with acetone just because its easy to get very high purity and evaporates fast.  Also you don't need to make what is essentially a pipe bomb in order to extract your cannabinoids like you do with butane.

Vector and Colibri and reputable brands with good, pure(relatively speaking) butane.  There will still be very minor impurities though,  even sigma-aldrich's butane has roughly 50 ppm sulfur or something like that.

And how is making BHO like making a pipe bomb?  If you do it outside it is safe, unless you are retarded or something.  All of these solvents are at least somewhat flammable, you just need to exercise caution

iso = black oil

butane = honey

Colibri is the best brand of butane, zero impurities...

Denatured alcohol is just as easy to get. In fact, it's usually within 6 feet of acetone at the hardware store.
