I just bought this same oster model at walmart and the fan shorted out after 30 minutes.

It has a one year warranty. Go get a new one and sneak a few extra trays into the box, or just keep a couple from the old one because I don't think you can buy additional trays.

Mine has don me well so far. I have it sitting on a wire rack, elevated. Don't let the motor get too hot by restricting airflow to the fan underneath.

Since ive first posted this thread, ive had nothing but great results, only beef with it is, that if your mushrooms are fat you have to put them on the top level, or modify your racks, you could of course cut them in half, but i personally like them whole.

Just rotate them. I packed in what came out to be 3.25 oz dry and they finished in 12 hrs.

Think I rotated twice, maybe three times during that period.

er, you're right, plugged it in this morning and the fan came on.

I don't get it. I thought the fan would run constant. Last night it wouldn't come on at all even after much fussing, banging, kicking, etc..

mine runs constant as long as its sitting on a hard surface so the bottom has good ventilation
