casing with pre used pf tek substrate

if i were to break off a part of already formed mycelium and put it in a jar ontop of some wet vermiculate would the pf tek substrate (rice and verm)that has already been in a jar and sterilized with the mycelium be a suitable top layer or should i just go with more verm on top? I cased some of the mycelium last night using the verm on bottom and top method and pinners are already starting to form, i was  shocked, but i was wondering if the pf tek substrate would work as well. :tongue:

yea man that will work, i once did the same thing except i didnt sterilize shit. I just had a little substrate left and thtough it in a jar and covered with wet verm. It worked really good. I got like 4 or 5 small mushrooms. Oh yea, i put tape around the jar, so no light could get in on the sides
