Since I am a devout Christian and in light of this new photograph,

I must now teach my children how to properly use a firearm...

i personally don't really know how to use a firearm, so it seems unlikely.

however, i've been thinking i'd like to get a simple .22 when i get back.  i figured i ought to learn to shoot before the zombie apocalypse comes.

i am in the process right now i have 3 children ages 9,7,and 5 and last xmass bought my 9 yr old her first red rider bb gun i have let all 3 shoot it and used it to teach gun safty next step will be a cricket 22 for my 7yr old this xmass they all love what im teaching them i belive you must teach your children firearm safty even if you do not belive in guns because what if they go to a friends house and the friend gets out dads gun i want my kids to know to get the hell away from it to know how powerful these things really are

Yup. I grew up in a hunting family, and learned at a very young age that a gun is not a toy, and something that you only point at things that you want to die, loaded or unloaded.

Gun safety at an early age should be mandated for children in America and Canada. With the amount of firearms in both countries it would be irresponsible not to teach a young one to treat weapons with respect.

I'm sick of hearing stories about little kids finding daddy's home defense handgun and shooting themselves or their friend while just "playing around".

And it just so happens that teaching gun safety is also a lot of fun. So it's the best of both worlds. If I ever have any kids, it would be priority numero uno to make sure they know how to use a gun the proper way and what to do if they ever find one.
