Woohoo, time to start! But a few questions.

Just got my spores.  I was planning on using the glass cup / tinfoil lid because I'm cheap as hell, but are there any drawbacks to this method?

Also, what's a good FC setup for a beginner?  I was thinking of just using a large plastic bin, but it appears there's lots of setups for them.  Can someone link me to a cheap, easy setup with detailed instructions?  There's alot of them posted here, but most of them assume that the grower already knows what they're doing, which I really do not.

I'm not worried about it being automated.  I'm home alot, so fanning/misting however much I need isn't a problem.  Thanks!

shot gun FC for beginners.  just put 1/4 in holes about every 2 in all over top and bottem and sides

Really that's it?  Doesn't need anything else?  I was under the assumption that there needed to be more done to the box with fancy airstones and pumps and whatnot. 

So I should be able to keep it at proper humidity without any more fancy supplies?

oh i thought you new what to put in it.  for a shot gun just 4in of wet pirlite on the bottem will do just fine. and other than misting a fanning you are golden

well u need to put some wet perlite in their and myst it with water a few times a day but thats about it man

Oh no, I was aware of the perlite and such.  Just every other setup instructions I see seem to have some sort of pump or something, like the one in your pic feelfunny.  Thanks for the help guys!

Pumps, which I did not want to spend money on.  That was my main reason for making the thread :P

pumps are not at all  nesisary for a shot gun and i didnt see much differance with and without the one in the pic
