Newbie questions: terrarium setup

Hey i'm new here and I'm _almost_ ready to go...just need to get a few things going and lookin for some help: 1) I just bought a dual output air pump -- i was thinking of connecting it to two sides, or maybe just one side of my terrarium higher up, and having CO2 draining holes near the bottom of my terrarium covered with MMDiscs. That work? Is it best to just hook them up using the small diameter plastic tube going in? (seems like not a lot of air would circulate with the small tube...) 2) For incubation i bought a fish tank heater but it's not submersible so i'd need a deepass incubation chamber. I think i should get a submersible one or something else. Input? 3) I plan on casing with coir and using perlite for humidity. Will i need perlite or will the casing provide enough moisture? Or should i maybe just put an airstone-in-water on my pump coming in to increase humidity? (maybe have one of the pump outputs to an airstone for humid., one high up to circulate air?) 4) And finally: i bought a heating pad and a couple of oven liner trays -- i was going to sandwich the heating pad between the two oven liners and put that under my terrarium...do ya think that's safe? I'm hoping to just put it on a timer once every hour or two to keep a nice temp up. (the point of the sandwich is to make it less hazardous -- not direct plastic/heating pad contact or anything) Thanks for reading all that shit...hope i get some replies!

I've been warned against heating pads because of fire hazards. I'd use an aquarium heater in a pitcher of water + a little h2o2 instead. The other stuff, I'll defer to the more experienced

Lot of good ?'s here... Ok, the tubing will be fine to cir. the air in your terr. It' better to have to ends running into their. My terr. is a huge plastic bin, thats about 3-4 cubic ft., and I use 2 pumps. I use them for air exchange and humdi. levels...works like a champ! I went and bought a small tupper ware cont. that wouls hold the 2 pumps, plus 2 small water bottle's. I screwed in the pumps to hold them in place, then ran a hose from the pump to an airstone, which sit's inside the water bottle. Then another hose from the water bottle to the terr. This gives me the option of using 1 or 2 pumps at a time.....i love it! The ends that run into your terr. should be alittle high (really no biggie where you decide to put them), and a hole our 2 for drainage of co2 (stuffed with cotton or something similar). For incubation of my jars I just set them inside my terr. with 1 pump running, and a heating pad bought from a pet store underneth the terr. works great! I use perlite in my terr. to catch some water droplets that my form...thats it! I add no water to the perlite...there's absolutly no reason to...talk about overkill! I think and hope this little write-up helps you on your quest...good luck! P.S. If you need a pic of the set-up im talking about in this write-up let me know. I'll be glad to show you what I mean. Yuo'll have to give me your addy...i can't seem to get pics. up on here...working on that though :)
