Terrarium setup....

I'm not much of a project person unless i know exactly what i'm doing cause i've dont it before... i looked at the myco tek hydra pod thing and the 130 or 170 bux is nothing i can't handle.. if those work well it's worth the money for me to save the time to build my own terrarium setup and not have to maintain humidity and such since i stay very busy and dont have a lot of free time.... any other suggestions to save time would be appreciated, and if anyone thinks i should get the advanced over the regular hydrapod all opinions are appreciated... thank you!

im pretty poor(in college) and dont see the need for spending that much, when you can make a fully automated setup with a rubbermaid, perlite and a fishtank air pump for air exchange for under $50, you could use the other 80-130 on buying lots of spores. but if money isint an option go for it, im not saying anything against the hydropod or whatever its called, seems to be an excellent product, but for me the choice was to save cash and build my own setup.

Keep your money! If it's humididty your worried about you can take a small one pint sports drink bottle and fill it with H2O2/H2O. Run your tubing from your pump to the bottle. Once the tubing is in the bottle just stick on your little bubbler. Now take another piece of tubing and run one end to the sports bottle, and the other end to your terr.
Keep your temp. reg. and put your pump on a timer.
There you go..a semi-auto mated set-up...works like a champ too!

money is not the concern..... its saving time and having an easy to maintain setup.... and of course a good setup for fruiting... if this is the case with the hydra pod then that's all im worried about and anyone that has experience with it, thoughts would be appreciated

Check out the Hydrapod grow logs in the pictures section. From what I have seen they produce good results. If I had the money I would buy one, but fortunately I have more time than money.

hydra pod works great for cakes...
casings are another story!
but without time...you wouldnt want to case anyways.
it doesnt take much time to make a terrarium..maybe an hour or so.
whats a grown mushroom without free time...a waste of time i always say
time is the most important part of mushroom cultivation.
do i make sense....

hi.... Opin
I have a hydra-pod.... I really like it.
Basically just stick the cakes in and let it go.
So if you are on the go alot.... this is a great set up to have.
If you would like to see the pod in action there are several grow logs in the Picture forum....including mine.
I think the pictures speak for themself.

so someone would spend $130 on a unit that only does cakes?
doesnt sound liek a very feasable option to me.
i would assume that 90% of people that use cakes quickly resort to other (better) methods

Cookie,
The pod pays for itself with its 1st cycle.
I do both cakes and casings.
I don't put all my chickens into one basket.
